Underwater obstacle suggestions please, and one other thing.

Its almost done, my first level is well on its way to being completed. All I have is an under water section and I need obstacle ideas. I wanted to do something like the waving pattern you have to fly through on the bee level but electrified (but I have no idea how to do that), also some spinning electric wheels that have spaces cut out of them that you can swim in and you have to navigate around the spinning circle without being shocked other than that I am at a loss.

Also I have a wench in my level that I use to descend to a lower part of the level, it is activated by grabbing it, I want it to retract to minimum length when I let go of it, how do I do that?

As for the winch, just set it to forward/backward. As for water obstacles, you could have some bombs attached to the floor with a winch (bombs float) and have them explode if you get to close to them. Also if you grab something underwater that is in a different layer, you will switch to the layer the object is in. So you can use something like that to utilize all three layers underwater if you wanted to.2011-02-07 01:22:00

For the Winch problem, place a Grab Sensor on the platform. If it's not grabbable already, use a Material Tweaker and change the Grabbability setting to Grabbable. Wire the output of the Grab Sensor to the Winch. Change the Input Action of the Winch to Forwards/Backwards. Grab the platform and the Winch lowers; let go and the Winch retracts.2011-02-07 01:28:00

For the obstacle thing, here's a few ideas.

-A giant sea creature.
-Like Kitkasumass said, underwater mines.
-Sackbots in water assisting you in some way. (Thanks to warlord_evil, there is a way to make your sackbots touch water without tragedies)
-A first person style gameplay where you have a harpoon gun and have to kill monsters to get through.

Had some more but forgot 'em.

WOA, WOA, WOA! Sorry this is a little off topic. But could you please tell me how or give me a link to the thread that explains this in more detail?

My level is actually a ninja training course, the first chapter in a Ninja Epic which will have bosses and enemies eventually, but for this level I just wanted the player to pass a bunch of death defying obstacles so bosses, enemies and first person shooters are out.2011-02-07 05:13:00

For the wave hazard:
Create the first hazardous block, attach it with a piston. Copy/paste the first one a bunch of times for the rest.
From there simply add a delay (called the SYNC setting) of 0.5 seconds (or whatever) for each piston.
(ex. 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3...)

Thanx midnight I actually just created the blocks then I set all the pistons on them, I didn't even think about copying the whole thing. I did figure it out on my own (unlike most of the logic), I am still fine tuning it. I really appreciate all the help from you guys I went with a 6 bomb piston trap where every other one is of sync by 2 seconds, then I made a wheel with a whole cut out on 2 sides and plasmafied it then put a wobble bolt on it to wobble 180 degrees, then I got the plasma wave thing coming along nicely, the water part of my level is shaping up to be one of the hardest, and I was looking for hard obstacles. Again thanx for all the help and suggestions!2011-02-07 20:24:00
