Neverland (Open-World Adventure)

Archive: 6 posts

Yesterday, I "finished" and published a section of my re-creation of Neverland. As you may notice, this level contains several level links. That is because my project isn't complete. I plan on re-creating the entire world of Peter Pan, with one area linking to another. this section I published is a sort of transition area. This isn't the finished project, but I wanted to give the community a taste of what's to come.

go and check it out, and be sure to comment and inform me of bugs/glitches, or just give me suggestions.

Soon to come:
Explore the Indian Village, Captain Hook's Quarters/or entire ship (Haven't decided), Lost Boys Hide Out, Mermaid Lagoon, Skull Rock, London (and whatever else I can think of. I'll try to make them more interactive for next time.

I'll try and add some pictures to this thread soon, too.

Thanks again for playing. I hope you enjoy it.

Played it. c:

+ Nice fantasy atmosphere of Neverland captured. Absolutely smashing job on the boat. The forest trees standing had me smilin'. c:

+ Nice job implementing the music from the actual movie. (Though, isn't that copyright material? Ah well, not too sure of that.)

- This negative regards the sackbots. Now, they're slappable. Not sure if this was intended but I did get a good jolly out of slapping the Indian chief. Memory fails me though, so here's another point on the sackbots, the sackbot with the bear costume ended up flailing himself in the water, thus dying. While that's amusing to me, I don't think it'd be helpful to have children blowing up due to an error in their patrol area. xP

- One last negative, the camera angle for the stone steps to get to the other side made it impossible to judge the length from the last rock to the other rock due to the waterfall blocking the last rock. Thus, I found myself plopping into the water and having to guess and estimate the distance of the rock as to whether or not I should do a short jump or long jump. (Long jumps ended with me in the water sadly. :c)

All in all, I'd like to see the completed product in which you have all the levels linked together. c: Exploration levels are one of my favorites. Especially ones with plenty of little hidden things to find.

Thanks! I've been really trying to stay faithful to the film and the feel of it all. In regards to Hook's ship, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really wanted it be both visually appealing and to fun to bounce around on. Like pixie dust. Haha.

Also, thanks for bringing up those concerns. I'll try to address them as soon as possible.

And, of course, thanks for playing!

I didn't get that it was a linking area the first time I played it. I will have to go back and see what I missed. You may want to add some indicator that this is how your level works. I flew through it in no time. I got to the end and I thought "this is it?".

Yes, I'm afraid that is all there is for the moment. I really wanted to give the community a feel of what I was going for, even though I hadn't completed everything.

Thank you for playing it though, and I hope you will play the rest in the future.
