It's so fluffy I could die!

Hi LPBCentral community! My name is Patrick and I can't stop creating in LPB 2, I just fell in love with it. After countless hours of create mode, a lot of tweaking and headaches, my wife and me finally published our first level. The movie Despicable me inspired the name. I wanted to share it with this community, hoping to get comments and reviews. I am open to try your levels too and give you my thoughts.

Thanks for the feedbacks and I hope you will enjoy it!

Great forum name! I'll check it out later tonight. My level's in my sig if you're interested.

(And speaking of forum name, I have a Dark Tower level lol....but it was the first level I ever made in LBP1, so it kinda sucks )

Hey Patrick, just played your level.

Unfortunately I didn't have anyone to play it with me, so I don't think I got the full effect, but it did seem like It would be a fun idea trying to get each other while simultaneously avoid each other. I like that it's simple, as often the best and most addicting things are. I thought it was cool how it feels kind of disconnected from everything. It's a nice change of pace from all the dense levels that you can find in LBP.

That said, I do think it could use a little more visual flair. The platform placement seems a little bizarre too. It doesn't feel even enough. Also, I think the jump pads on the right might bounce a little too high. I think it might be a little more fun and competitive if that pad merely gets you to the platform and a jump will get them electrocuted. Anyway, good work, I look forward to seeing more.

I've added this to my queue -- looks like fun. However, I wanted to ask -- where did you get the white fluffy material? Couldn't find it myself.2011-02-09 04:23:00

Thanks for playing it and giving me your feedbacks! I am working on a version with more visual fluff!

For the poster before, I got it in Avalonia, and I think it's in the decoration part of stickers. If I'm mistaken I will update my post!

The name of this level alone made me realise I had to add it to my queue xD

Will get back to you with some feedback once I've given it a try!

Awesome, I've added this level to my queue and I'll play it and review it tonight ^^

In return, could you please try and review my level, Bounce Pad Level 1.

I enjoyed it - a simple little versus level with a fun concept behind it I left a slightly more detailed comment on the level itself with some feedback, gave it a yay and a heart to go back and play it with friends another time!

If you find a moment, to give my level a go some time that would be cool - but no worries if not!

Looks:

You have a nice concept for an unusual theme here, but the decoration overall is a little bit on the samey side. I didn't feel stimulated by anything much on the screen, and even finding the hazard points to throw my opponent into was a little confusing at first. I understand that you intended the electricity to be hidden? However I feel that the gameplay would improve if you had a little more going on visually and more dynamic hazards to deal with.

Playability:

I tried this on two player, and it became very repetitive after a short amount of time, with us jumping around, avoiding each other and then throwing each other into walls. Again, there's potential here but you really need to inject some more excitement and dynamics into the level to make me want to stay. If there was more going on, if things were more hectic, if things were more interesting to look at etc, then maybe I could have had a little bit more fun with this.

One other point - why the need for controllinators? Surely this would have worked perfectly well by placing an infinite lives checkpoint inside the level? This could also add more fun as you could imagine players slapping each other around etc. Is it simply for the scoring system? If you really need to use the controllinator I might suggest hiding it so that it looks like we are already in the level. Stops us wasting valuable time at the beginning figuring out what we're doing.

Overall:

Some improvement needed but with a little imagination this could be an interesting versus level.

F4F:

I'[d really appreciate it if you could take a look at my versus level: F4F linky (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=48444-Little-Big-Robot-Wars-Versus)
