TOWER DEFENCE (Now with YOUTUBE video)

I have published a mouse controlled tower defense level I have been working on for a couple of weeks. The level is controlled by mouse and plays just like any tower defense game on the PC or iphone. This level has three big areas to place your towers. No more grid based system or pre-set tower location. There are 4 lethal towers and one slime tower makes the enemies walk slower. Each tower has two upgrades. I have also spent some time to make a descent tutorial and it should be really easy to learn to play I really need some feedback one this level! Is it too hard, to easy, hard to get in too? I like tower defence games. This was no exception. Only thing I didn't like, was the "background", it's very chaotic. And if you turn the letters where it says the name of the towers, L I K E T H I S , it will be easier to read so people don't have to turn their head to read. Some of the info text is wrong on the turrets, and the mouse should be limited to just the playing area. No, but seriously, now that you quoted this, this is probably one of the most polished, and coolest levels I have seen. Hey there, I just gave your level a go and I must say, I'm impressed! Let's get down to the nitty-gritty, shall we? Anyone who's ever played a tower defense game can tell you that variety in towers and waves are what make a strong and infinitely re-playable tower defense game, and heronemis' level delivers. Though there are only a handful of towers available, they are still robust enough to cover most, if not all, elements of TD strategy. From the short-ranged but powerful spike towers to the long-ranged, slow laser towers; the pyrotechnic flame tower to the enemy-slowing slime tower, each and every tower has its own special use, and will reward you handsomely if placed strategically (or crush you invariably if placed sloppily). It is an excellent TD game, but it is not without fault! Looking past several minor spelling and grammatical errors, there were a few things I noticed. First of all, I noticed that during the tutorial some of the text disappeared a little to quickly, leaving some guesswork to a few of the controls and gimmicks. Secondly, the difficulty seems to jump a lot. Early on I found myself struggling to keep up, but once I got into the swing of things it became extremely easy. I kept on destroying wave after wave only to find that suddenly I was overwhelmed in one wave! Tragic. Also, more towers/enemies/stages would be great! Nevertheless, it was a fun, challenging, and robust experience that I enjoyed quite a bit. You've earned my ! I plan on making the game ends after a certain number of rounds And i know about the errors in the tutorial, i going to record it again and fix all the errors More towers and levels are also coming up! I LOVE this! The choice of towers and the interface is great, some of the designs of the towers themselves left me a bit wanting (the spike in particular) but overall it's the best TD i've played yet. Only thing i could say is that the tower selection box is HUGE, make that smaller in future levels so that you can fit in more stuff, maybe have just the pictures (without the tower names) in the middles of the screen with the course going around it? Update 1.1 is out!! - I remade the tuturial. I made it a little more cinematic and easy to understand - The level is no longer endless, it now ends after 25 rounds - When the level is over, you will get 10 points for each rounds you survived - The mouse can no longer go outside the level - Grammer and text fixes - The is paused with L3, not R3 as the tutorial sayd... - Balance fixes: - Spike tower is to over powered -> higher price + longer time between each shot - Lazor tower is to weak -> Will be much more powerfull, but same pricing I have played all the levels posted and will post feedback soon | 2011-02-11 11:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'm working on a huge update for the game. Next update will bring: - A new level. Much bigger and more detailed. This level more like a labyrinth and more like a normal TD map. - A wall that the enemies have to destroy before reaching the base. - Two repair bots that will fly around and repair the wall, they will collect points when the wall is undamaged - Two harvester bots that will continuly collect points - A new tower - New meny system - Better camera.
