Tip of the day - feature idea

Archive: 1 post

It's been a while since I've been a regular at this forum, but now that LBP2 is out and learning the ins and outs of create mode is keeping a lot of us (myself included ) coming back here for useful information, I thought it's time I coined an idea that I've had in the back of my mind for a long time now.

Forum-goers could opt in to receive tips of the day - be it a link to a forum post, a private message or just a random pluck from a long list of hints - that would contain things that members of the community submit and are generally helpful during creating, for example, or are just interesting facts and cool tricks. I know there are threads out there with such information, but they usually focus on one tiny aspect of create mode - say, tweaking cutscene cameras or splitting direction inputs. The information is there for the people that want to search for it, but sometimes you don't know you're doing something in an overly complicated manner until you're shown a simpler alternative. For these kinds of situations I think the tip of the day could be very useful, not to mention it would probably keep people coming back more often, after they've received some surprisingly useful tips and tricks a few times.

There is already a vast amount of tips to build a starting database out of, like this thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=44695-Things-you-might-not-have-known-you-can-do) for example, but presenting them in a more direct manner would in my opinion help a lot of budding creators out there.

Just my $0.02.
