Archive: 11 posts

considering that you can do almost anything, is there a reason of trying to think of something gamechanging to come in a dlc pack? i cant think of anything.

discuss with cake or pie

the cake is a lie, so have some pie!

I heard somewhere (Can't remember where), of a new object called the illuminator is to be released. I'm not sure how it'll work but I think what it should do cannot be made too easily without constant emitting etc...2011-02-05 23:02:00

It's actually "Movinator" - someone just misheard, and it's part of the forthcoming PS Move addon pack.

Really?

I'd assume that it'd light up the area around your sackperson, which I can think of 2 ways to do...

1. Constant emitting.
2. An invisible piece of holo with a follower to follow you, and an invisible light on it. (1 player only, or with sackbots/tags.)

Granted, number 2, which seems the most useful, hasn't been tested yet. By me anyway...

How does some get illuminator from Movinator?
Dang... I was actually kinda looking forward to the illuminator... I suppose I could try and make it.

If they were to give us an Illuminator, I have to imagine a Light Sensor would come with it.2011-02-06 17:08:00

back to the original post. I believe that there are many game changing updates that can happen to lbp2. MM said they would constantly update it anyway. Look at the first game for example. No one believed water could happen, but it came and changed our levels forever. there's also some old ideas that they had cut out of the first game that they might bring back. Anyone remember the ice tool?2011-02-06 17:52:00

The ice tool sounds nice. What did it do? It was in the LBP beta, right?

If you were in contact with it for a certain amount of time then you became an ice cube. I'm pretty sure they took it out because it was too buggy. Could probably recreate it yourself with a sackbot and an impact sensor that requires a tag which you would place on the 'ice'. The tag sensor would then be connected to a timer and input set to dirction. When the timer reaches the selected time you could emit a hologram 'ice cube' around the sackbot. Once the hologram has been emitted another timer could be activated and plugged into a destroyer to destroy the sackbot.
