i think there should be a thing where if you copy from someone, it will say where you copied it from, so there cant be another copy troll who takes credit. it would say where the first copy came from too disscus with cake | 2011-02-05 19:39:00 Author: Unknown User |
I like it, also if someone uses your objects in a level, there should be a place in the info listing all community objects and there creators. | 2011-02-06 02:08:00 Author: zeel Posts: 61 |
Its called sharing for a reason, you know? Anywho, to the main point. The EULA clarifies that anything you publish or upload is not "yours" only anymore, and anyone is free to use it, so no one ir really obligated to credit the owner of objects and levels, that's merely a courtesy people do, but its not to be expected nor can you force someone to do so. So no, this is most unlikely to happen. | 2011-02-06 02:24:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Silver aggrsive as ever i this way of thinking non of the level should be creadited at all and assign to there creators since you don't own the level right? they not even able to prevent people to copy it then. That EULA point is only about level ownership in state of real world law, it protects MM from situation when some guy what MM to pay for him that is anwsopme level is there and he owns it. In game it self other hand there no issue to credit who originally made a level and that don't have anything to do about the copyright. Not to mention objects got this implemented already | 2011-02-06 04:07:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
i tink that could be realy usefull, but it whouldnt be needed i some guys in the community were'nt so unimaginative and had a little thing i all ethics, i mean, nobody who has ethics steals stuff from cool people (LBPC people ) and claim it as their own... | 2011-02-06 20:02:00 Author: nosemomkey Posts: 414 |

So no, this is most unlikely to happen. So? What does the EULA have to do with Mm creating a "community objects used in this level" section? This would be a brilliant way to spotlight good creations that are widely used. Finding extra ways to highlight good creators and their creations is good not only for the player, but for Mm as well. This is a no-brainer. | 2011-02-07 21:00:00 Author: ccapel Posts: 100 |

Oh I never say they couldn't I just said it was unlikely, because there's no obligation to do so. Besides, really, where are they gonna place the 'credit'? In the level? Most unlikely. On the description. Hmm, possible, but what if its a level transfferend from moon to moon, for people to work with? Or you send it to your friend, because he asked you to work on something? Also, once in your moon, what stops the person to simply copy the level, and paste it in a new blank level? Bam, now it SAYS its his, so, the problem's now worse, as both levels says if from both people. Too many problems and loopholes with this.. | 2011-02-07 21:18:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
I wonder how copyright works like fully in LBP. Clearly i own all rights to story and characters i make. or if not, people could go around and say they own Sonic the hedgehog, Yohoohohoo~ When we make and upload levels i think we own the right to it but as it is on LBP. MM owns it too. they own the rights to the level. but however, not to the story and characters,ETC. also they use to mod levels that had copyright characters like Sonic. but not now, as it comes down to the fair use law, that gives you the right to use but not own others works. But back on topic. i don't think it's needed to show who made what as it be to hard and messy to do. if you want others to have credit, you just have to put it in your self. not much you can do about people stealing and using your objects in their levels. As they are not characters ETC. Just thank goodness the God-bug is gone (@_@) *mew | 2011-02-07 21:48:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Too many problems and loopholes with this.. There's have to be a way to tag the object that's being shared. That way, no matter how many new levels it's copied into, it maintains the tag. Even if it's been modified, in the "Community Objects Used in This Level" section would have an image of the original object. | 2011-02-07 21:49:00 Author: ccapel Posts: 100 |
It's a crime to publish a level without that AK-47 sticker I made. | 2011-02-07 21:50:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
If you press square on an object in the community objects section of the popit you can see who made the object. I don't know if this transfers from creators, though. | 2011-02-08 18:00:00 Author: GameRoom Posts: 200 |
If you press square on an object in the community objects section of the popit you can see who made the object. I don't know if this transfers from creators, though. its easy to bypass that though. just take it out, capture it, and its now your property. i think it should be where it first came from. though then it could be on a stealers level and now its the "new" place of origen. | 2011-02-08 23:25:00 Author: Unknown User |
