Pyramid Run

So, my friend and I are currently making a level. Which involves going through three pyramids and uncovering the secrets of the tomb. We have about 6 hours tonight so if we can get it done tonight it would be great. This level will involve, mummies, rooms where the walls close in and a final boost out of the pyramid back onto the safety of your aeroplane.

Hopefully, this will be a sucess.

I will be using this topic as a development diary, (if this is what I can use it for).

We have so far made:

A drop from an aeroplane,
A slide down the pyramid and into the depths of the tomb.

I know this level is going to be cool. Don't forget to add some type of moving wall of spikes closing in on you! It wouldn't be a pyramid level without it 2008-11-15 20:38:00

We're actually going to do two massive walls closing in, but then platforms which comes out of them, allowing you to escape.

D Diary: We have created a Beetle monster and a small room.
We have now added a winch sponge.

So, I've done a helluva lot.

I don't really feel like listing it all but some of the stuff I've done so far is.

Sticker Switch Exploding the entrance to a tunnel,
Dragging an artifact off a podium causing a... It's a surprise.
Walls that close in.
A rickety bridge.

Also, can anybody come up with ways to make this level more 'egyptian'? I'm having trouble with this aspect.

the last room is a sarcophargos (spelled wrong of course) which opens slowly and a mummy comes out which chases the player, (electrified?), and then finally the player jumps over a pit of fire which the mummy then falls into2008-11-17 19:59:00

Sounds awesome. When walls close in though, how are players going to get through if they respawn at a checkpoint? Doors that only open from one side would work I guess but it'd be difficult to create any feeling of urgency I reckon.

I'm looking forward to see how you get on with it, mind.
