Remotely controlled Sackbot: How to disable desired buttons?

Archive: 7 posts

So I am currently finetuneing my Player and enemy sackbots.
For example I want the palyer to be able tho shoot with R1 and L1, but when pressing R1 the remotely controlled Sackbot grabs objects nearby, most commonly the enemy I wanted to shoot at. Is there a way of disabeling some default controlls like grabbing, arm moving (R2 & L2), etc.

P.S.: Just to clarify, with remotly controlled I mean a invisible holo floating infront of the sackbot, where the player sits inside a DCS. The receiver for this DCS is a DCS on the Sackbtos chip. So a simple Sackbotplayer sheme.

I am currently experimenting with the imputs of the receiving DCS.

As far as I know, you can't disable things such as arm waving
Disabling grabbing would probably involve a lot of material tweak things which turn the materials into ungrabbable materials.
Hope that kind of helps

You will want 2 controlinators on the sackbot.

The first one (A) is a reciever, tuned to the same colour as the transmitter, but you must turn off the tweak that overrides sackbot controls. Then add your second controlinator (B) to the sackbot. This one will override sackbot controls but will not be a reciever.

At this point, your system will do nothing. But if you wire from the left analogue stick in A to the left analogue stick in B you will be able to make the sackbot run, but nothing else.

So if you wire everything up apart from R1, then the default "R1 to grab" command will be disabled.

I'm not sure I fully understand this. The player is in a controlinator outside of the sackbot, which is set to transmit the tag which A receives. He wants grab disabled, but he still wants the sackbot to be able to shoot with R1. In order to do this, would he use the output of R1 from controlinator A?

Separate but related topic. What if I wanted to disable shoot (R1) for a few seconds for a particular event? Is there a quick and easy way to do this by temporarily killing the R1 input from the controlinator?

Different problem: What about if I had X as jump, but when I grab an object with R1, I then want X to do another custom action (not jump)?
I assume it would work something like this...
(1) Jump: DSC A (receiver, override = yes) X output connected to additional jump logic.
(2) Custom action: If R1, then DSC A (receiver, override = no) X output connected to DSC B (not receiver, override = yes) X input connected to custom action logic.
But would theses then conflict if I had them at different parts of my sackbot MC?

I'm so confused. -_-
