Different speeds from one mover

Archive: 6 posts

I'm making a flying vehicle that needs to be able to fly at 3 or 4 different speeds with only one mover, but I'm having some trouble giving the mover different values of inputs, you help me??2011-02-05 12:50:00

Set input type to speed scale and use an OR gate for the number of unique speeds you want. Set the mover to be the maximum speed.

You can use batteries to provide the speeds in temrs of % of the maximum. You can either put them on microchips and activate their chips, or you can couple them with an input an AND gate - altough if the input is analog, if it's lower valued than the battery this signal will take precedence, so using microchips might be cleanest and most predictable.

You can use a selector to go between speeds, it will only choose one at a time.

THANKS! Simple but helpful I thought OR Gates didnt pass analog signals, but apparently they do.

They definitely do, they pass the maximum of what's passed into them.

It might seem more straightforward to just use a selector into the on input of multiple movers, but I don't know what your needs are, and I've personally found objects to not work well sometimes with multiple movers on them.

Yes that's exactly what my problem was, at first I tried it with different movers but nothing seemed to work so this is the best solution.
