Well, atleast a close-resembling Level. For one, I've recreated an Assassin Bot with dupliate controls to Assassin's Creed (Give or take afew features*). A functional Brotherhood Alliance, at the call of a button. Profile modes. Free-Run enviroment detection (pain in the butt with Tags everywhere!). For the most part, Assassin's Creed, without a pretty world (yet). *Controls: Standard: D-Pad - Weapon Select L2 - Signal Brotherhood R1 (Hold) - Enter High Profile mode L1 (Hold) - Combat Mode R-Stick - Move Camera L-Stick - Walk/Run Low Profile: Triangle - Head (Eagle Vision) Square - Attack arm (Hidde Blade: Silent assasination) Circle - Free arm (Push: Clear path) X - Feet (Unknown - Ideas?) High Profile: Triangle - Head (Eagle Vision) Square - Attack arm (Hidde Blade: Noticable assasination, Throw Knife, Fire Gun) Circle - Free arm (Grab) X - Feet (Jump/ Free-run) Combat Mode: Triangle - Head (Insult) Square - Attack arm (Strong attack) Circle - Free arm (Grab) X - Feet (Dodge) | 2011-02-05 00:10:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |
What were your methods to create a freerunning enviornment? Were you able to figure out a way to make the sackbot pull themself up onto objects, Im sure its possible so if you figured out how I'd be very interested to hear your methods! At the moment I've been trying to build on a system for the enemies to attack the player, I'm thinking something along the lines of grabbing. Second, trying to emit out crowds is proving difficult as having a hundred sackbots at once takes way to much thermo. I'm thinking there will be tops 20 sackbots on screen at once so some way to have a single set of emitters, each emitts its own unique sackbot NPC, though they all pretty much have the same AI. Then I'd need a way to detect if the sackbot is offscreen and re-emit it somewhere else. Finally crowd systems are easier than I expected, I just gave all npcs the same tag and set a tag detector to 4+ on the player, if the player isn't in high profile and the detector the become "invisible" to enemies. A cross between Holotaging (Hologram 'Auras' and Taging them) and manual works. At the moment, there are only a few simple moves (Eg: Wall Kick-Up + Repel*)... when in the 'Aura', it activates a Sensor, which connects to an AND gate, as well as other detectors being taken into account (Wether in High/Low profile, last facing direction, ect...) Grabbing is mainly done manually, with the occasional Auto-Grab. Detecting both direction and height (= RL abilities to climb)... all making a weak & fast Mover propel him up for a short amount of time, just enough to get upto the ledge and/or the next beam. *Meaning, holding Free-Run will run you up to and up the wall, but manually pressing X (Jump) again whilst still up the wall will repel you from it (Which, in real Parkour, does propel you up) | 2011-02-05 19:59:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |

But I'm avoiding all the 'Fancy-Pantsy' flips and breakfalls, they take away from what Parkour is. (Dispite it being called Free-Run) Can I add you and and be a tester?
