I'm trying to create a song in the music sequencer and need it to be in the 9/8 time signature. How might this be accomplished?

It can't. You can only ignore the time signature and just put notes down irrespective of visual bar or block. You can just about get 3/4 time, because a block of 3 four-beat-bars is the same length as 4 three-beat-bars, but as I found, adding a fifth bar in a phrase throws all the structure out. So I just have a load of blocks in a row and edit them note by note, crossing a bar over sequencer blocks as needed.
