Loading LBP1 Account that was Imported
Archive: 6 posts
So awhile back I was hanging out with a friend who was also into LBP a lot, so I popped my game onto a USB drive and took it over so we could play together. At the time we unlocked all the 2 player and 3 player stuff, and after taking my slightly more advanced game back home I got the message saying that my game was imported and wouldn't be able to win trophies. Now I'm not much of a trophies person so I honestly didn't care, and kept playing with said account. Now a year later I'm kicking myself because guess what? LBP2 is refusing to import my account because it counts as an imported account. I understand MMM wants to prevent cheating but now I have no way to get all my LBP1 stuff into my new LBP2 account... sadface. Anyone know a way to fix this though? I'd very much appreciate it! | 2011-02-04 01:58:00 Author: lionhart180 Posts: 200 |
I think you are bang out of luck with regards to importing the profile over. However, there still might be hope for all of your collected items. In the Settings options, I think there is an option to "import objects". This should import your LBP1 stickers/objects (storymode prizes) without the need to import the entire profile. As for your LBP1 levels, you could re-publish them with the 'copy' option enabled and then copy them onto your new LBP2 profile. | 2011-02-04 04:32:00 Author: Wayward Posts: 120 |
Yes, this is by design unfortunately. Nothing you can do but make a new profile. | 2011-02-04 04:38:00 Author: RSQViper Posts: 302 |

I'm pretty sure that's specifically what Mm was trying to block when they blocked the ability to import copied profiles. They want people to buy lbp1 to get the lbp1 stuff, so they blocked copied saves. It would be nice if they could rig it so that playing lbp1 with the copied save would update it to be recognized as actually being from that ps3, but I'm sure that would be a hassle for Mm and there may be drawbacks for them with that too. Unfortunately, it looks like you'll just need to start lbp over if you want all those items and export your levels separately and import them into lbp2. | 2011-02-04 04:52:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

On a similar note, I've noticed that one of the LBP2 trophies requires a second PS3 controller. I'll say no more. | 2011-02-04 04:56:00 Author: Wayward Posts: 120 |
Are you referring to the one where you need to beat 10 versus story levels? I did that by going to the basketball level, getting a few points, and then switching my controller to player 2 and spawning a guest account when there was only a few seconds left (you may need to have player 2 score too, but i'm not sure). Keep switching between player 1 and player 2 every few seconds before the round ends and you should be fine. | 2011-02-04 14:40:00 Author: Infernox Posts: 93 |
