controlinator + danger
Archive: 5 posts
Hello everybody, quick question (hopefully): How do you make your controlinator-controlled object vulnerable to the standard dangers (fire, electricity, etc), just like the bunny in the game's levels? (Meaning, if your object touches fire it gets destroyed or your sackboy inside dies..) Thanks for any input! | 2011-02-03 22:09:00 Author: freak42 ![]() Posts: 43 |
just use a projectile sensor it will activate when it is touching anything hazardous. | 2011-02-03 22:11:00 Author: slidedrum ![]() Posts: 189 |
Hi , thanks for your (quick!) reply, I tried this out today and didn't get it to work? It seems the projectile sensore indeed only activates on contact with projectiles and not with any standard material that has been 'hazardisded'. So either I am doing something wrong or there is another solution. Input anyone? | 2011-02-04 22:25:00 Author: freak42 ![]() Posts: 43 |
Yes, the projectile sensor detects only stuff from the projectile category. Thats usefull, because you can't attach tags or anything on a stream of water or fire. For everything non-projectile, use tags and a regular counter. Oh, and a paintball detector for paintballs...![]() | 2011-02-05 00:11:00 Author: Xario ![]() Posts: 238 |
thanks xario for your info, this matches what I am observing. I am just wondering how MM did this, as their danger detection seems more accurate that what you can achieve with tags (the hopping bunny from the story) | 2011-02-05 08:47:00 Author: freak42 ![]() Posts: 43 |
