Is pink text possible yet?

Archive: 14 posts

Exactly what the title says. The LBP2 story levels still use pink text and special characters in the magic mouths. I'm hoping this has been made available to us in LBP2, but if not, it's a feature we're seriously overdue for.

Sorry if this question has been asked already.

I would like the option to put controller buttons symbols in the text box, just like Mm can... they use everything we do? pfft.
No, there is no pink text, though i remember someone capturing a level beta story level and that includes the text bubbles as well.

That is because the story magic mouths are "coded" which means that they don't really have the text in them, instead there is a code. That code could be found in LBP1 story items that you should have in your pop-it (I think it is on the meerkat mum and the lady from the islands)
The reason for that is that the story speech bubbles change with the language you have on your PS3. That also means that the captured magic mouths would have the text in any language.
I don't know why we don't have pink text or special icons for buttons, maybe Mm thought they just explain the basic things with those and the community won't need them, just like with the video screens which explain features from emotions to the try-again button.

Pink text is <em>blablabla</em>. I saw it in copied story levels from betaz and in the copied LBP1 tutorials. But when I tried to change that text, it wasn't pink ,<em> tags became visible in bubbles2011-02-05 13:26:00

Really, isn't <em> an HTML tag, and have you tried it with [] instead of <>, or with capital letters.

I think they work only with story text for specific reason, don't forget that story mode needs multilingual support, so i bet that text is inputed in different way. So when you modify story text from god glitch captured object the new phaser kicks in that not accept ML codes.

I'm also for inclusion this to community usage specially with controlinators

i rmember aya saying that the code basically tells the magic mouth where to find the text since its hidden somewhere on the discs memory, rather than inputted like how we do. for example blahblahblah L <em> memory bank text 1 <em> blahblahbolah2011-02-05 17:46:00

actually seems that in LBP2 it doesn't, example is on the Meerkat Mum + sceenery object but you can see the <em></em> tags hardcoded into it...
