i've made a level on lbp2 called "electric elephant" i would like to participate in f4f. i'd like to get better and i would appreciate any and all feedback. It is a platforming level made behind a silhouette screen. see if you can get a high score.

You should include what type of level this is, and maybe even a screen shot or two. Then if it still sounds interesting. I'll try it 2011-02-02 22:17:00

Take pictures in the game with the camera tool. Upload them to your LBP.me account by clicking on the pics in your popit from your Pod. Go to LBP.me on your computer, find your pictures in your profile. Right click on one, copy the address. When you start (or edit) your thread on LBPC click the icon on the top that looks like a little tree. It says "insert image" when you scroll over it. Push it and right click in the pop up window that appears. Select paste from your drop down menu. That's all. In the meantime I will queue your level and give it a try.2011-02-02 23:12:00

Overall good level, i liked the unique art style in the level that made it very unique. It was well detailed, and the whole level seemed to be constructed with the whole art style in mind, which i liked about it. It is a very challenging level ,but thats not a bad thing. The thing is though, some parts felt too challenging. Some jumps felt impossible. Also, half the level was made with ice material, which got annoying after a while having to jump to get sack boy moving again, only to fall to my death. I liked the use of gadgets and there parts in the level felt right.

I did have a problem with the electric balls not hitting sackboy when i was in a different plane, making it really easy to dodge the enemies. Also there was a few areas where i would get stuck.

I give it 3/5 stars mostly because of the annoyances, if you can fix them its more than worthy of 4/5

Be sure to check out my F4F level to return the feedback.

Thanks a bunch for your in depth feedback. I will look into improving my level. I kind of figured the ice was going to be a little on the annoying side, and the only real reason I used it was purely for the art look of it, the other materials just didn't look the same. Maybe I can find some other way to do this. I will check out your level and leave feedback for it also. Thanks again, B-Ram

Hey, I played your level. Overall I think it was pretty neat. I like the look of it. The only problem I had was that it is all made of glass. It makes your challenging bits almost impossible and therefore frustrating to play. If you want to keep the look I would suggest putting a material tweaker on the glass Sackboy runs on and setting the friction to 100%. You might get away with setting it lower (70% or so), but you'll have to experiment with that. I'd love to check it out again if you make it easier for players to get a little traction befor a big jump!
If you want to check out a level of mine click the link in my signature. I'd love to get some feedback in my thread for it if you'd like.

Thanks, I somehow never thought of that. I will experiment with different settings and see what seems to work with my level. I have tried your level and left feedback on your thread, thanks again.

I tried your level.
I liked the art style; it feels like playing on a virtual boy. However I do feel that there are some parts that may prevent it from being an MM picks for an example one of the check points are placed in a difficult spot that it is the player are more likely to miss or even get stuck and die than reach it which I feel it may needs some readjustment.

Making a challenging level is quite dangerous since it is likely to get negative feedback since people love to win so you may need to spend double the effort on those pitfalls to make sure they work fine and are beatable.

Overall just a few adjustments needed. You really don't need to be a pro to make a good and fun levels so don't worry about that part.
cheers

I really like the aesthetics of the level a lot. Very fun to look at. I agree with what somebody else said though; the glass is just not good material for platforming. Also, I got stuck at one part where you have to jump over an electric pit with a bounce pad (right after you shoot through the elephants for the second time). The problem was that the bounce pad made me hit the ceiling every time, and because of the way the ceiling was shaped, I never made it across the gap. I would've kept trying, but you had a low life checkpoint there so I just quit after I lost all my lives.

I do like it though Good job, just a few tweaks and it'll be greatness!

Thanks for all the great feedback guys. I will queue levels from each of you and try them out to leave feedback on them. I have made adjustments to the level. Checkpoint easier to get to, the traction problem is fixed, the hard jump also fixed, etc... Thanks again.2011-02-05 19:48:00
