Can you replace the sound of the bounce pad?

Archive: 16 posts

I tried an impact sensor linked to another sound, but it activates them both.
The only option on the bounce pad is height.

Is it possible?

Have you tried actually setting the sound effects' settings to 'On Impact'? I've not tried it myself, but I know that can get rid of some impact sounds.2011-02-02 17:24:00

I just tried the "on impact" option and it didn't work. I don't think there's a way to do this 2011-02-02 17:35:00

As far as I know, there's no way you can mute the sound on the bounce pads.2011-02-02 18:23:00

How about setting SFX volume to 0% and then using a synth? It seems like a major nuisance, but there's always making an old fashioned jump pad.2011-02-03 00:09:00

I'm not totally sure if this is possible. I haven't tested it though. All you can do I think is mask it with another layer of sound... :/ Maybe this will be something that can be changed/updated in the future. (Would be nice if we could change the material of the bounce pad too)2011-02-03 01:09:00

I want my level to be as unique as possible, and that bounce pad sound effect is everywhere.
The main reason I need them, is that the MM bounce pads achieve a consistant height, which cannot be abused by jumping. Unlike all other bounce pads.

I tried all suggestions, the best I could achieve is muting the sound. I cannot replace it.
And if that's the case, I may as well keep the sound..
Thanks guys.

I really hope MM makes bounce pads more customisable..
(ability to replace sound, option to sticker, change width/material, etc)

How'd you do that?

well, you could always attach a sensor onto the bounce pad, set the radius to something very low (4?) and then have it connected to a sound emiter or whatever you like. of course, you should mute the sound of the bounce pad first that way you won't have two sounds playing at the same time.2011-02-03 06:26:00

If you can't get rid of it the best way to make it unique would be to add your own sound effects to it or shine spotlights through them when you bounce or something like that.

You can mute all sfx in the global controls menu.

You can mute all sfx in the global controls menu.

There is also an object that modifies sound. You could wire that one to an impact sensor and have it reset after 0.5s or so.

Muting the sound:
Sensor switch attached to global audio tweaker (with SFX turned off), with a NOT gate returning the audio settings to normal.
Has to be global as the audio option on a material tweaker doesn't work on bounce pads for some silly reason.

I also don't think impact switches on bounce pads are 100% accurate.

That is my observation as well. I tried the impact sensor setup last night and after one bounce, the sensor stayed lit all the time.

On that subject this thread might be worth a read - https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=&p=749275
