2 Player fighting games?

Hey guys back again!

I'm moving onto the next project which is gonna be Rock-and-sock'em sackboys, Which will look exactly like the old 80's game! I just need a little help though.

I'll Use the street fighter turbo one as a good example, as the moment you start your placed straight into the controlinator, and if your playing single player, the other fighter still works and fights back?

Anyone got any handy tips to get me started?

Focus on the bare basic functionalities first. They are complex! Like sackbot control, combo moves, halo effects, HP bars, rounds, selectable character system, scoring and lastly NPC A.I. Basically the stuff that is hard and of which you have doubts whether possible to make. It will save you the time spent on the easy stuff; and if you find out this is too complex to make, at least you will have learned a lot.

This is why I haven't produced a LBP2 level yet.

Yeah it's very tricky indeed! I have good patience though so hopefully it won't get the better of me...if not I can just use the disc as a frisbee I've just made the model which looks good now I just need to figure the mechanics out, I might hook it up to an impact sensor in the head to after 5 or 6 blows his head pops off. If I made it visible it could almost be like a health bar.

Still not sure how the robot will control itself if theres only one player? I suppose if i start with a player sensor under the start gate along with a counter set to 2. Then link the link the player sensor to a timer so if the counter hasn't reached 2 in 10 seconds than a sackbot is spawned, which has already been programmed to act, creating the impression of fighting?

Argh so much logic, but it wouldn't be fun without a challenge!

I am busy making a sackbot with player/bot hybrid logic and my idea was to just hook up the Active button on the bot's DCS to the player logic and with a NOT gate to the A.I.2011-02-02 17:33:00
