impact sensor problem?
Archive: 5 posts
Is anyone having their impact sensors not activate every time they should? I'm working on a pinball game and my sound effects, score givers and emitters are connected to impact sensors based on where the ball hits obviously. They only seem to work 80-90% of the time in Play mode but 100% in Create mode. Keep in mind that the thermometer isn't quite 1/3 full. | 2011-02-02 16:34:00 Author: Pestilence Posts: 7 |
Nobody is having this issue? I've tried setting the impact sensor to require the tag on the pinball's microchip as well as suspending the bumpers without gluing and putting the emitters, score givers and sound effects off the objects being impacted. Can anyone explain why they work in Create Mode and not in Play Mode? | 2011-02-04 03:27:00 Author: Pestilence Posts: 7 |
I know they dont work for certain on bounce pads. Apparently replacing the area with holo works perfectly. | 2011-02-04 04:42:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
What are you talking about... The impact sensor works perfectly on bounce pads. Just set it to Rigid Connections. I am currently working on a lvl where you jump on Jpads and they do stuff. You just have to make sure they don't touch anything else. Which is pretty simple. Are you using hologram? That should be best for something like this. Also, it depends how you test it. Do you actually play it in Create? Or do you just make something and throw against what you want to test? The problem could be you don't have it set to touching. I would have to see what you did for an analysis. | 2011-02-04 06:30:00 Author: Devious_Oatmeal Posts: 1799 |

I set up an emitter or several of them and have them fire the ball at it from a bunch of different angles. Which all works fine. Once I go into Play Mode and try to play it the Impact Sensors act up. Sometimes they don't register at all or they don't activate the score givers or they don't activate the sound effects. I'd say anywhere from 80-95% of the time they work which baffles me because if they were set up wrong they just wouldn't work at all or a lot less. | 2011-02-04 07:11:00 Author: Pestilence Posts: 7 |
