How would you make roses float to the ground, as they've done in the story
Archive: 2 posts
The level I'm thinking of is the first playable level of world 2 -- the dessert world. At the beginning, some roses, which are decorations, float down from the air. I know I could attach the roses to an invisible material, but how would you get the gentle swaying in the wind motion that they achieve? Would you use movers hooked up to a wavy signal source, or is there some type of material which could be made invisible, which would actually behave in this way? Thanks for reading ![]() Alex | 2011-02-02 03:01:00 Author: Alic ![]() Posts: 81 |
Piece of Halo material, set to 0% brightness (will make it invisible), stuck with a rose to it. Add a microchip with the following: A looped sequencer with only two steps on it and a slow playback speed. Stick two Gyroscope objects on it. One tilted to one side, one tilted to another. Set them both to a slow rotation speed and 50% increase and decrease. Also, add a simple Mover to the chip that makes it move down slowly (negative value on the vertical movement); set Local Space to ON on this Mover so the rotation of the object will have influence on which direction it is moving. Now have something emit this object in random places. I haven't done much with Emitters yet, but I know the Creatinator can have its accuracy set to a low value so the emitted stuff spreads out in a wider cone. Perhaps Emitters can do the same. (I should probably make a tutorial out of this) ![]() | 2011-02-02 09:37:00 Author: Antikris ![]() Posts: 1340 |
