The Caption Contest - Round 51

All rise, Round 51 of the Caption Contest is in session!

The premise is simple; whoever places the best caption on the provided LBP image wins! The caption could be a thought going through the characters' heads, or something the characters are saying, or even a short story leading up to the picture! It can practically be anything you want, as long as it's clean and abides by the forum rules.

NOTE: Humor is the only way to win!

Each round a new picture will be posted and you have two weeks (or longer if we decide to hold it open at our discretion) before the thread is locked for judging. Once the next round commences, a new picture will be posted, and the winners from the previous round shall be announced.

Rules:


Only two captions per user (you do not have to post both at the same time).



Image editing/manipulating (Photoshopping/GIMP-ing) is allowed.



Awards will be handed out at the end of the round, usually on a Saturday after the 2 week time limit. At that time, the image for the next round will be displayed.



Post the pictures on this thread. Yes.. they have to be pictures with your captions enclosed.. not just words on a post.
Image needs to be around the same size as the original for legibility. Smaller ones will be accepted, but if they cannot be read and you cannot fix your entry, then it will be horribly hard to judge and probably will not win. More then welcome to get with me to give you help, plus I have a handy how to up above!


PLEASE AVOID ATTACHEMENTS! They are either too small or I cannot archive them easily. Sometimes they work fine, but more times than not I have to struggle with them.


Awards: (except for round 50 where all 3 pic winners were given 500xp)


Winning Caption -the best caption gets this. [250 xp]



Second Place - second best caption. [100 xp]



Third Place - third best caption. [50 xp]



Consolation Prize - this award goes to the caption that didn't get an award, but was still very good(this may not be handed out every time). [20 xp]

WINNERS of Round 50:
First off thank you all so much for all the entries!! They were great!! Not only that, but we were stunned to find that all three pictures had record setting entry numbers! That means for this special round there were a total of 129 entries!!! AMAZING!!! Thanks again!

Wow.. now how to judge them!! It took much longer than expected as not only were there so many, but there were quite a few great and funny entries. Once we had them sorted into their respective albums on photobucket, it got much easier to work with them all. ..so now we finally have the winners!

Remember.. this was a winner take all round so only one winner per picture. Again.. there were so many that were so darn close, but we felt these three best represented the photo at hand.

Congratulations!!! ..and thanks again for a wonderful 50th Round Celebration!!

Awesome!...

..but could you do me a huge favor and not use an attachment? I even ask that in the rules. It is just too tiny to really judge and more difficult to archive. If you host it somewhere like photobucket it will be the original wondrously huge size.

The way I did it is simply took your direct url to your caption, hit the little icon that looks like a pic of a tree, plopped the link in the box and hit Ok.		2011-02-22 23:36:00

You don't need to stick them between image tags. Let the image icon do that for you. On the reply box, there is a small square that looks like a pic of a tree. Just click that and drop the link in the resulting dialogue box.

Most welcome!! ..but we have another issue. Only two entries per person, per round. So unless that 2nd one is a two frame, you will need to pick which two stay from the 3 you now have.

Yup.. until this is locked, this round is still in session. We are sorta on a break, but you are more than welcome to enter this round. There will be a 52nd round, but with LBP2, I've been working on a new level rather than doing sets. So the next round might be awhile.. lol

Ya never know though... I might have a new one done this weekend too.

Great! Let me know when it's done - I loved that pinball game. I liked the way it stayed on one screen, the effects and noises and also the fact it had quite a simple but nice look. Too much unrequired detail is distracting.

Thanks for the entries! However the idea is to put the caption ON the photo. No worries though if you can't, but for future reference speachable.com is a good place for that or also photobucket. They allow you to edit and add captions etc..

I could be wrong, but (IMO) I don't think the winners of the last contest were the funniest. I applaud them for winning, but there were funnier pics.

Also, this one didn't have an announcement like number 50. The announcements like the spotlights and pics on the main page.

Well.. to be honest, it is tough to judge and things can get pretty close. Unfortunately it being the 50th we only had 1 winner per pic rather than having 1st 2nd and 3rd like normal rounds. One you may have liked more could have been our 2nd. Again.. just really tough at times and the highest score totaled from each of the judges takes the prize.

The reason for the announcement last time was because it was the 50th round and felt that worthy of a huge announcement. Also tossed in a special logo. So none of our other rounds has ever had an announcement other than the thread. We are back to a plain ol simple community contest. Sorry for any confusion. 		2011-03-06 04:05:00

Yup.. I am getting there. Like I have said, I have been on a break to work on my new level that I just published Sunday. Yay me! My levels seem to take longer than most.

ugghhh! I despise moving and do not envy you one little bit. Also, I'm mad at you. You got me addicted to that pinball level and I went through some serious withdrawals during the PSN outage and what happens the minute I get back on PSN? Yup, right back to Space Escape Pinball.
