Destroy Controlinator + Respawn

Ok so I'm trying to figure out how to do this, but I have a feeling I might also answer my own question.

In my level, you approach a giant dog that you jump in and control via controlinator. I want it so that if you destroy it while flying around, that it can respawn. I'm assuming I have to use an emitter, so instead of just having the object sitting there, would I have it come out of an emitter when the level starts?

Next, about the destroying it thing. I think I can figure it out if I play around with it long enough, but I'm at work and just thinking about it so I thought I should ask. In the flying area, the hazards are flaming platforms and flying cats that will shoot electricity at you. I don't want it to be a one hit kill, so I know I would put a counter on the dog, but would I connect that to a projectile sensor for the electricity, and an impact sensor for the flaming platforms?

Are there any easier ways to accomplish what I'm asking? Hope I didn't waste your time

So I figured everything else out, I just connected a player sensor to the emitter so that it just spawns when you reach the checkpoint. But I'm still having one more problem. I want it so that when the dog is destroyed, it respawns via the emitter. I can't seem to find a way to link the destroyer to the emitter. Please help! This is the last thing I need to do before I publish it!2011-02-02 00:47:00

Set the emitter to emit maximum 1 at a time, no limit on total number, lifetime forever, don't destroy older objects. This will emit a new one automatically every time one is destroyed.2011-02-02 01:02:00

Hm... Those are actually the exact settings I have it on right now. Do I need to attach the emitter to anything else besides the player sensor? Any logic I'm missing?2011-02-02 01:08:00

Bump. Can someone please help. My emitter settings are correct, but when you die while controlling the object (dog) in the controlinator, I can't get it spawn another one. I want to publish this level and this is the last step and I just can't figure it out!!!2011-02-02 02:57:00

try using the sequecnce thing.First make the emitter do its job then make the DOG be destoryed2011-02-02 03:38:00

Wow I finally figured it out and it was just the stupidest thing... The dog's arm would fall off upon destruction, which was still part of the object being emitted, so even though the whole body was destroyed, the arm was still hanging around somewhere making the emitter think the object was still out there... What a waste of time lol. Well I guess I'm done now!2011-02-02 03:57:00
