Anyone else having emitter issues...

And this isn't the "gameplay" kind... it's the "crashes" the game type.

IN "create' mode... i can attach an emitter to an object, but the MOMENT i try to put in the object that it's going to emit... (community, personal, or pre-defined it doesn't matter which one)... the entire game freezes.

I was finally going well on my level... and realized i Needed to "force" the player to climb a room (Otherwise the could just stand in one spot and survive a rising floor).. so I was going to set up an emitter to produce an object to chase the player... as I hadn't created an object, I just picked a predefined object (i think I tried a ball)... and selected it.. THe moment I select the object, the "loading" icon appears over the object, and the game freezes.

Iv'e deleted the level, and recreated it... I've tried it with a blank level, but no matter what, putting an object in the "To be emitted" is freezing the game.

I'm tempted to delete the game data and do a reinstall... but I need to know if anyone else has had this issue (nothing on the PS boards, and nothing on any of the other LBP boards I've visited.)

yep.,.. online, no issues.. getting into other people's levels with no problems.. it's only the emitter that's causing the freeze-up.2008-11-14 03:18:00

Wouldn't matter if he was connected to LBP Online, it shouldn't freeze EVERYTIME.

And I also cannot say this has happened to me, I think you should go for a reinstall, unless you got 100% in all the levels and aced them, then I would ask to give it a few days to see if it'll magically fix.

When I played the beta, if I wasn't connected to LBP Online, the game would freeze when I tried to load an item or material, and when I used the reverse/forward/pause options, and this was ONLY when I was offline. I'm not saying that this is the beta, but you never know...

I figure this should be my test:

1) Try it on my wife's sub account
2) If it crashes.... go back in as me.. and delete just the game data (hopefully not losing any of the save data)
3) Re-install the game.
4) Try again as myself, then as my wife's character
5) Then delete the save data...

I'm dreading getting to #5 though...


UGH... it works fine on the wife's account... now it looks like I"ll have to wipe out my save data and start all over... *sigh*

Final Result Well, it look slike I'm startin' over... BLEH!! WIped out the save file, and got to the Create mode again, and the emitters are working once again. i'm thinking I had done a trophy sync and exiting out of the game via the XMB just prior to the issue starting... so I'm thinking that's what caused the issue (but I cannot confirm)

When I'm online my fast forward/rewind takes like 10 times longer, sometimes freezes, so when I go and do a big edit on the level I need to sign out first >_>

Never had that happen.

But i do have emitters stop working quite often. They just break, and the only way to fix them is to delete and re make an emitter.

This game seems to have more problems everyday, they need to fix this ASAP, emitters are a big part of creating a level and if all these problems do happen to people then that just takes the fun out of creating, I seriously just had all like 30 of my emmiters in my level just stop working...2008-11-14 22:20:00

One more thing I should mention is that an object will not emit if the space it would emit in is occupied by something, including Sackpeople.2008-11-14 23:09:00

Which is stupid, I wish sackboy would just move out of the way whenever your doing something like that, it's kind of irritating when your trying to click on a piston or something, but sackboy is in the way...2008-11-14 23:19:00
