It has been awhile since I made mine, but I think the trick was chains set to 0 in length. Not sure how well they work in LBP2 though. design the wheels they go on first, then build the track around it. I tried fabcy versions, bolted versions, but simple rectangles linked by chains worked best, it the item is too heavy on the treds they can brea, but the unbreakable material tweaker may help...infact I may try and import a heavy thank from LBP1 I could not get to work with out breaking the chains in and test it on them.2011-02-01 05:52:00

Unless your snow mobile is huge, I wouldn't bother trying to make an actual tread. I'd just decorate some material to look like a tread and then add in the little spinning wheels to add to the effect. It's not going to look quite as cool as a real tread, but it will drive much better and you won't have to worry about it breaking. Sure you could make the tread indestructible, but then you have to worry about the tread bits getting smooshed into the wheels and such, which can lead to them being completely stuck, or, as I discovered in the beta, can cause the game to completely freeze (they might've patched that, though: haven't tested it since retail).2011-02-01 06:46:00

Lol, so the indestructable works, but then it crashes the system...oh well I have had it crash on me four times since LBP2 so maybe I should avoid more. Wasit crashing in play or create?2011-02-01 07:39:00

To be fair, the problem I'm describing happened in the beta and I haven't checked to see if it still happens in retail, and it was a pretty specific problem. In most cases, rather than crash, the intersecting objects would just get stuck.

I built a snowmobile in lbp1 and decided to forego the tread. It was too small and caused too many problems, especially when jumping. I just made four or five little wheels attached to a thin back layer with motor bolts nd attached that to the snowmobile with a sprung bolt. It looked fine and worked well.2011-02-01 15:41:00
