Okay . . . So if I want to recreate a song from, say a video game, would I just need to recreate it by ear, or is there a program that I could import the song onto and then it would tell me what notes to use in the music sequencer? (I think I read about it some where) Thanks

You'll pretty much need to do it by ear. There are programs that try to determine the notes from the sound, but they can get accurate from only single monophonic sound at once, the melody. Play a copy of an album, say FF music, and they won't have a clue what note is what. Alternatively if you can find a MIDI file of the song, you could maybe find a viewer that'd show you the notes. I'm assuming you don't have a music sequncing program on your PC. Or maybe even if it's a popular piece of music, see if there's a YouTube vid of someone playing it and copy the notes. But basically creators are creating music by ear or transcribing from some form of notation they already have like sheet music or a piano-roll view on a sequencer. If all you ahve is a copy of the audio, you're shtook.
