Counting destroyed emitters

Hi again,

I've got this shooter where i have my on score counter. The thing is, the counter works perfectly except when i want it to be connected to emitters. What i wanna do is desroy an emiter and that my counter counts it. The problem is that the emitter cannot be connected to my counter because it's an emitter. it can't be attached to anything apparently.

Do you have any ideas how i might proceed? Thanks a lot!

I have to guess a bit on your setup... so excuse any incorrect assumptions.

Basically you have something the emitter is attached to, like a gun emplacement, missile launcher right? Something folks can shoot at? That then takes damage and triggers a destroyer that should also be able to trigger a +1 to your score counter.

No not really lol.Sorry for the bad explanation. let me clarify.

It's a twinstick shooter. I've go my ship and the enemies. My enemies are coming from emitters. My enemies can't shoot. they are coming toward me and i have to shoot them. what i want is to count every enemy i destroy. What i did was put a tag and tag sensoron my bullets and enemies. ... hmm this could be easier if i could draw it. i'll try to do that.

Ok so here's the thing. My selector of my counter is based on this: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=45133-Scalable-digital-counter-UPDATED-with-level&highlight=counter

The problem is. I would have to connect the tag of my enemy to my selector so that it counts. This works! but the problem is that it doesn't wrk when that same enemy comes from an emitter... because there, te connection between the tag and the counter selector is not present... I hope i make myself clear here lol

Put the tag that gives you the score inside the enemy and hook the tag sensor that detects players bullet to the tag.
This should blink the tag when enemy dies for only one frame and thus eliminate the same time triggering.

There is a Score Giver component. On your enemy, add a Score Giver and connect it in the same way you have your Destroyer.


..and try to refrain from double or triple posting.

Are you sure this will award points to the right player? Does hidden player info that is on the emitted object get transferred via tag sensors to the Score Giver on an enemy?

lol.. I dunno.. The OP didn't seem to know there was a Score Giver and was simply answering his question about the tag that gives him the score.

There is a setting on the Score Giver that says You or Share with everyone. No idea if that will help the OP's situation or not.

thanks for replying and sorry for double posting. i know about the score giver but i didn't want to resort to that. it gives this stupid bublle sound and takes away the immersion. Thought about keeping track of the score by a Counter system, then award them all at once right before the level ends?

Yes that's what i was gonna do. but i also wanted the counter as posted above to show the score directly ingame. And the thing is, this counter needs to be connected to my enemies... but since my enemies are emitted, they can not be connected to the counter 2011-02-02 16:45:00
