Hello everyone! So, I've been working on a machinima project on LBP since early 2009. (NOTE: Machinima is something like a film technique where the actors, sets, and the action is created through a videogame. For example, in this project, Sackboys/Sackbots would be the actors and specially designed levels the sets) Lots of bad stuff happened though, like school getting insanely hard and my only two teammates/assosiates leaving the project. However when they announced cinematics on LBP2 tat meant I could actually start planning out stuff besides just working on the story itself. So, 2 years later I'm finaly about to start production on this series but I have a major problem... it's still just me... and as much as I'd like to think I can pull it off on my own... it's most unlikely. I'd like to keep the series' storyline and everything as secret as possible though... so I'll give you guys a general outline of its genre and stuff like that, and what kind of help I need... and you guys can tell me if you're intrested in helping out! Nedless to say... there's a limited number of "places" or "jobs" here... so yeah... ^^u About the project For starters, it's a comedy of the ridiculous. I know being PS3 owners we tend to talk badly about things concerning Xbox, but the best example I can think of is the webseries "Red vs Blue". Maybe less jokes where the characters are being utterly mean to one another but yeah... something similar. This next bit is pretty obvious but still... being a machinima series, there's no money being made here... just the satisfaction of bringing entertainment and fun to people from all over the world... even if they don't have LBP or LBP2. Think of it like making a level only it works outside the LBP Online community The story is planned out and all, but much of it is still just drafts. Which means team members WILL be involved in the creation of the story ^^ This, being a free project, is not supposed to take a ton of time away from team members. It IS recomended that if you're intrested you do have a bit of free time in your hands to work on it at least one or two afternoons each week. However it's not like we have real deadlines; no need to add stress or anything here. I know this kind of project calls for lots of directing dreams to come true... but well, I do need people that can work with ideas that aren't their own without trying to impose their own... So now, on to the areas in which I need help (any of you guys can take on more than one if you're up to it ^^ id doesn't mean much more work though... probably less "wait doing nothing" time, though. 1st I need people to help me out with set and in-game-effects creation. This, being regular LBP players, should be easy enough but I need help to do it *faster* lol. Places available: (_/2) 2nd Actors? I really need a few actors (Sackboy movers). I know I could record actions for Sackbots and all that, but once again, this is something that can be done much faster if two or three people work on it at once. It would be best if Sacktors (lol) have headsets or a PS Eye, if just to be able to make the sackboys? mouths move during acting. (And probably record scratch dialogue to help with acting timing]. Places available: (_/2) 3rd Story team. Like I said, I have the story sketched out and all? but 2 or more heads think better than one; the moment we make a script (it doesn?t need to be professional) it would be best if a group looks at it and is involved in the creation process to make it as good as possible. Here it's especially necessary to be able to give up on your ideas if the group finds another one to be more convenient? Places available: (_/3) 4th Voice actors? I need some voices for the series. I have some semi-professional experience here and can make a few voices myself? but doing more than 3 is risking the audience to notice they?re all the same guy? Anyone helping here should preferably have a decent microphone for their computers in which they can record their voices to dub what the Sacktors did. Places available depend more on the characters? so here?s a list of what the project needs: Male with Aussie accent Male with southern accent Female who can do both sweet and tough Male who can manage ?comedy without sounding like he?s telling a joke? ^^u Heavy Metal enthusiast Male (prolly scratchy and a bit like he?s forcing the wind out of his lungs) Sweet happy-go-lucky Female Extras (male and female? no specific number? could invite people from outside the team) NOTE: The accents don't have to be natural to you? this is a comedy there?s no problem with feigning accents as long as it's not just being 100% stereotypical Any one of you guys can cover, if you want to, more than one of these places. It all depends on what you can/want to do. The project won?t start for a while cause I?d like to assemble the team and meet up on msn, PS3 text-chat or some other place to get ourselves organized. Guys, despite this being a comedy and all? I would really like team members to take on this project calmly and relaxed but not as some little playzone to get hearts or annoy people? ^^u I really want to pull this project off at least one season first and see where it goes from there. Please, when applying for a place in the team, tell me why you think you can do said job and, if possible, show me an example of what you?ve done. And of course, share your PSN name to add you. Once you?re in, I?ll contact you via PS3 text-chat or messages telling you further details on the project, the storyline and everything. This is a comedy of the ridiculous? no excessive gore nor too dark a humor? Think of this series as to be rated PG and maybe slightly go into PG-13? If you like fun stuff that doesn?t involve morbid humor, rather more cartoon-like humor? that?s more like what is planned here. Sorry for the lack of specific information on the series? but like I said, I?d like to keep things secret. At least until I upload a little teaser I've been working on lately. Thanks!
