HI! I am 1/5th of the way through a level, that really spawned from an idea from an obstacle I had botched together, and now I am at a complete loss as to where to go from here. It's essentially a platformer, with the overall look/ feel of the old mario fire style levels (lava, jumps, fire etc) I need suggestions for obstacles/challenges/ anything else you would want to see. I am at a dead end and am struggling for inspiration

If it's based on the mario levels, then maybe one of those spinning fire sticks? Also, sections where you must drop down into a ditch (or switch layers if you'd like) to dodge incoming fireballs. All this would lead up to a boss, but.. Maybe that's too highly inspired by Super Mario Bros.

hmm heres a list of what i can think of from the top of my head Fire pit monsters that move side to side u need to jump on thier heads jump pad to jump over water or leathal material fire spitting monsters need to use power gloves to throw sumthing into a hole to get the door to open need creatintaor to shoot water and put out fire to make a path to go on shoot the enemies with sumthingto kill them rotating platforms horizontal platforms use a shield to deflect incoming fire balls catapult urself over walls use cannon to destroy obstacles theres more but im going bed , hope i helped you

how about using a creatinator with sticky white balls (as foam) to stop fire balls coming out small vocanos? not many of those online...
