Grabbing Dangerous Objects

Archive: 2 posts

I hate to start a new thread for this, but I just can't seem to find a workaround. It seems that even when a sackbot is fit with a danger tag, making it impervious to that danger, you still can't use the Grabinator to pick up and throw objects that are lit with the same danger. For example, let's say our hero sackbot, Plasma-man, is battling his arch-nemesis sackbot, the evil Fire-guy. Fire-guy is on fire and picks up a piece of polystyrene, igniting it into flames and releasing horrible chlorofluorocarbons into the atmosphere. To make matter's worse, he then throws the fiery, melting mess at Plasma-man, who is holding a plasma covered sponge, ready to return volley in an epic struggle. How exciting!

Anyway, there's only one problem: Fire-guy picks up the polystyrene with the Grabinator and everything is fine. However, once I trigger the object to become dangerous, he drops it because you can't grab/carry a danger object, even if the object is grab-able and the sackbot is invulnerable to the danger. Any help on this would be appreciated.

I haven't tried it, but maybe instead of igniting the object, you could overlap it with invisible holo and ignite that instead. That way the polystyrene is still safe to grab. I think it should work. Of course, invisible holo, when lit on fire, has the fire effect, and so does electric, but plasma stays invisible, so you'll probably need to have the holo light up at the same time it gets plasmafied.2011-01-30 18:33:00
