Aimer Boundaries

So I made a sackbot that uses a hologram aimer to aim. It works fine but the cursor... A: Doesn't have boundaries and B: I don't know how to make it follow without overiding he mover... HALP!2011-01-30 03:55:00

Do you want it to go only within like a certian distance of your sack bot? Or do you want it to like circle around your sackbot, kind of like aiming with a creatornator or?2011-01-30 04:18:00

Three options that I have got to work as I have been going through a similar issue. Easiest/most simple to most difficult.

1. Attach a string to your cursor and to your sackbot and make it non-visible during gameplay.

2. Make a holographic hollow rectangle that covers the area you want your cursor to cover and attach it to your sackbot with stiff rods. Attach 2-4 pistons to your cursor and the boundaries of the rectangle and make it all non visible. For the holo material, just turn the brightness to 0 and it won't be visible in game.

3. Same thing with the holographic rectangle. Put tags on the hollow border and tag sensors on the cursor. Also add a follower to the sensor and have it follow a tag; let's say blue. Put a blue tag on your sackbot and whenever your cursor breaks the tag barrier, it will "bounce" back towards your sackbot. I couldn't get this to work with movers, so I ended up going the follower route.
