Guess Mm thought players couldn't make decent levels anymore. I was looking in the trophies, and they don't have any similar to the play, create, or share trophies from the original. Kind of disappointed, it was a motivating factor for me to make a good level. Oh well, I'm just being nit-picky I guess. On a related note, does anyone know how those original Play, Create, and Share scores from the original game were supposed to work? They never actually DID work (and Mm admitted this). Can we expect to see an improved return of these mysterious stats?

What stats are you even talking about? And the play and create trophies are still there just not the share onces, because HEART 4 HEART ruined the share trophies.

Well, before the patch from LBP1, you could go to the news section, and About Me I think it was, they had Play, Create, and Share, all with a big fat zero above each. They were supposed to keep track of something but never did. And yeah, I think I saw the Play trophy, I was concerned about whichever one awarded you based on hearts, but your right, I guess it's proper that they removed it.
