Levels by Hex Production......s With Videos
Archive: 20 posts
Hello everyone, these are some levels I have made with the occasional help of my brother's. It was a lot of fun to make them. I put some significant thought and work into creating these levels and I hope you enjoy them. I am particularly proud of Timmy's Dreamand The City's Conundrum which is lighthearted and pretty well polished. Here's a gameplay video. If you like it, go give it a shot! FGMKimkZbc8 -Timmy's Dream Features comprehensive bed time story style rhyming, solid platforming, and a dreamlike feel and look. Enjoy! Decided to put my newest and best level in a separate thread which is here:https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=5833 These videos are slightly outdated, while basic gameplay mechanics remain the same, the look and polish of each has changed. Spider's Den is quite difficult with a dark and slightly comedic feel. The really hard part is the boss at the end, follow the arrows for multiple paths and unlockables. Here's a video for this one. DdVJ-F4aG7Q Zeppelin Bombardment is almost self explanatory, you drive the zeppelin while being bombarded. It's mostly just to show the concept and make it a little bit challenging to win it. And a video for this one. yWU5v3ysOzo If you want to play it you can always just add me to your friends under the PSN ID Hexagohn. Have fun and remember to heart it, and-or me, if you like it. More coming soon! Also please inform me of any obvious technical issues (broken ceilings, the entire level falls apart, you know, the regular stuff.) Are the videos working for everyone else? | 2008-11-12 22:49:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |

Dude, only one comment? These levels are good. I'm gonna have to try them out! | 2008-11-13 06:10:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
Best part in any of the levels was when you get on the bulldozer and "ram" through the office building, that was awesome and very creative. Thumbs up for you buddy | 2008-11-13 06:22:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
Tried out all of them and here is what I think. There is clearly a lot of creativity going on but it needs to be pulled together. Take the Spider Cave for instance: The neon pink arrows plastered all over the place really ruined the atmosphere for me. There are other ways (and other arrows) that can indicate where the player should go next but even these are superfluos in most cases becasue it is pretty obvious where the player should be going! First off the spider looked amazing but I completely bypassed it!. If your going to go through all the trouble of creating a massive boss like that then you better make sure the player is forced to fight it in order to progress. I grabbed on to one of the sponge balls that took me on a completely different path and I found myself wondering "where in the world is this thing leading me because it's clearly far away from the spider". I also found a long path to the left of the spider that I followed for 30 seconds for it to only bring me back to an earlier part of the level with no incentive at all. (score or prize bubbles) This really did not make any sense to me. The City's Conundrum: This was my favorite level although again, there were a couple of things that really need tweaking. When I grabbed onto the wreking ball (very cool part btw) and it crashed into the building I let go and got crushed under it which meant being taken back to the previous checkpoint where there was no longer any wrecking ball, making it impossible to go further and forcing me to restart the level. There was another segment with a rolling ball of fire and the camera zone would switch to an angle that made it impossible to see the edge of the ledge I was running on making it impossible to know when I should jump. I hope you appreciate that I am being honest because I know there is a lot of potential here for great levels. You will find very few people who will take the time to leave this much feedback so let me know whether you agree with my comments and whether you will be republishing your levels after tweaking because I would enjoy playing through them again | 2008-11-13 06:33:00 Author: OCK Posts: 1536 |

Thanks for trying them everybody, OCK especially.feedback! I was able to get everything OCK mentioned fixed (as far as I can tell), and republished. Please if you notice any other problems post them here or comment on the level! | 2008-11-13 13:35:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |
who in the Hex productions is it just u and your bro | 2008-11-13 17:27:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
I do most of it myself under the name Hex Production.....s. I have several brother's and they have helped me test and polish the levels. My sisters have also helped a bit, namely in remembering the word conundrum (I sat there for like 10 minutes trying to remember it). | 2008-11-13 19:39:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |
have you got any more levels related to the Hex production, have you condier making a story that link to each level | 2008-11-13 19:52:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
Dude, how many Brothers and Sisters do you have Also just looked at the vids and you have some good levels there | 2008-11-13 20:04:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |
Very good detail. A level which is remembered must present it's self by looking pleasant for its company. | 2008-11-13 20:40:00 Author: LocoCrazy yyz Posts: 35 |
These levels look very well-polished. I can't wait to test them. | 2008-11-13 23:18:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
You must have 5 other siblings, your house my be very loud, lol. But, yeah always think ahead, because you never want players to have to restart the level because they got stuck, for example in my level with the chase scene, I have to figure a way to have a checkpoint following you so if you die you dont go all the way back.... I'll probably just copy what MM did with The SkullDozer | 2008-11-13 23:27:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
These are the only levels currently made related to Hex Production.....s however I plan on making more, when I do I will probably just post them here with the others. And yes spawn issues are quite annoying, as far as siblings go I have quite a few. Keep playing and keep an eye out for more levels soon and remember to heart them, and me! We have started making another level and I must say i'm quite excited about it. As far as I know it will be the first of its kind. Thats all I can say for now though I'll post more here as it develops. | 2008-11-14 17:16:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |

Cool levels, keep up the good work! | 2008-11-18 13:59:00 Author: Loafers23 Posts: 2 |
I have released a new level called Timmy's Dream and it has a separate thread. It's my/our best work yet. In fact in comparison these levels were fairly disappointing to try and close the gap a bit I gave Spider's Den a very different look (much better then the basic materials it used before) and tweaked the look of the City's Conundrum as well as giving it a new mechanical puzzle towards the beginning, hope you enjoy! | 2008-12-04 14:38:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |
A THINK THAT THEY SEEM TO BE LOTS OF FUN.... great tecnic habilities...... congrats | 2009-01-21 17:24:00 Author: misterwonderloo Posts: 164 |
Hey and thanks. This thread has been dead for a little while. Anyway, the videos are pretty inaccurate at this point. As I said before I changed the look on spider's den and I added a puzzle and tweaked some things on The City's Conundrum. | 2009-01-22 01:30:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |
