Dragon Attack in Scuttlebug Swamp

Archive: 7 posts

The level description says it all, really.

My LBP1 level The Swamp of Devastation (http://lbp.me/v/c-6qf) didn't really work in LBP2 (the lighting was way too bright), so I decided to do a couple of edits. A couple of edits slowly spiralled into a major rework of pretty much everything, leaving the level almost unrecognisable and complete with a whole new story.

Also, the next level in the series will have water and completely redesigned enemies, because I will be designing the level from scratch in LBP2 next time. This level is kinda like a teaser prologue to the main story.

Patch notes:
I have now implemented a thingy on the egg dragging bit, using grab sensors and antigravity tweakers, that means that despite them being heavy you can drag them without hammering X. Makes it more intuitive and easy. Also, since Elijah mentioned the swinging bit being difficult I have tweaked it to line up better.

Queued, could you F4F my level its in my sig

Just played, the visuals were stunning, the gameplay was fun. hearted and
No real suggestions except the eggs were really hard to get in place, maybe now that its is on lbp2 you could make the eggs grabbable?

Great level - exactly the type of thing I look for when I play LBP. Not much I would change, if anything. I know you need a danger on the enemies to make them...well... enemies, but I don't think spikes on them looks all that great. That was really my biggest gripe with the level - no biggie. Still hearted it.

Also about that other comment, I didn't find the eggs too hard to move. I just pushed instead of pulled.

If theres anything specific you want feedback on let me know. My F4F level is in my signature.

Hey Phoenix, just played through your level. You did a really good job! The atmosphere is nice, and the whole level feels thematically consistent. It's all nice and immersive and the platforming is fun.

One suggestion is that you have a group of three swing grabs right before the part where the fish jump out of the bottom - The third one is really hard to grab onto, I kept falling into the poison fog a lot. Maybe you could adjust these somehow to make it easier?

It also feels like the level ends kind of abruptly. You did a great job on that big dragon head sticking out of the cave, what about showing the guy lifting you clear of the place while the big dragon head pops up from the bottom and misses you with one last big stream of fire. Then the guy could drop you off safely at the scoreboard on the other side? All in all, really nice level, keep up the good work!

Since you're doing F4F, could you check out my level Zen Mastermind and leave feedback in its thread at https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=45106-Zen-Mastermind-by-Elijah_Caine? I'd appreciate it!
