Upload Pics from PS3 Hard-drive
Archive: 9 posts
I know, I just KNOW, that this has been suggested a thousand times already; well, here's number 1001: we need to be able to upload pictures from the PS3 hard drive and use them as stickers. Not everyone's a born sticker artist, and there are some pictures that just can't be replicated in LBP or LBP2 no matter how hard you try, so someone at Media Molecule needs to get off of their lazy behind and get to making this function. Yes, I'm aware that this would allow a person to easily upload NSFW images into the LBP world, but this is a pitifully weak excuse for not creating this function; if someone has a Playstation Eye camera, heck even with the Eye one can still make NSFW images and upload them to LBP, so there's no point in trying to argue against the idea! | 2011-01-29 13:59:00 Author: toradrow777 Posts: 10 |
I think you've missed the point here. we can't upload images from the PS3 hard drive due to copyright issues. This means when ever a copyright image is used in Lbp MM or the user would have to pay the creator of the photo royalties, if not, well that is called copyright infringement and thats piracy, which is a crime. not forgetting the NSFW images too. | 2011-01-29 14:21:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |

True that, but what if the poster has the artist's permission? And what about freeware stuff? | 2011-01-29 14:46:00 Author: toradrow777 Posts: 10 |
Well people say that this is copyright issues, but i say it's marketing issue. By allowing people make own stickers, all DLC giving you stickers are losing value and they won't sell. | 2011-01-29 16:15:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
doesnt copyright infringement only come into play when someone is making money out of it? ofc Mm couldnt use pictures from the internet in the story levels, because they sell them to us - but a creator who uploads a level with a snap from another game, or from google isnt gonna make money of that level so they cant be taken to copyright court. /gross simplification | 2011-01-29 19:15:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |

hmm im not really sure what you mean but all i remember from a music business lesson a while back was that i could sample a piece of music and use it myself and as long as i didnt make any money off the back of it then i didnt have to pay a penny to the originator of my sample. i just assumed that this would apply to stuff outside of music industry, but if anyone knows better than feel free to educate me | 2011-01-29 21:17:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |
I to am studying music also , in fact i wrote an A* grade essay on copyright. the rights of the copyright holder include If you own the copyright you possess the sole authority to: copy the work issue, lend or rent copies to the public perform, show or play to the public communicate to the public (i.e. broadcasting it via TV, radio, Internet etc.) if any of these restrictions are broken you are infringing on copyright laws, you have to have the authority/permission of the original artist, or pay commission or royalties you may have to use their piece for public use. | 2011-01-29 21:40:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |
Do we know of any cases of images captured with the PS Eye being moderated for copyright infringement? | 2011-01-29 22:35:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
