Okay I was in create...working on my level that iv spent well over 30 hours on so far when it crashed and so i restarted and it said "woah woah woah" it appears your lbp1 profile has changed...do you want to import....freaking out I put no....incase that would delete eveything I did....so...then it puts me in the game with NOthing...starting all OVER...sooo...what AM I suppose to do? IMPORT my old profile?...will that bring everyything back? or what? If its all gone, then I'm done....

Well this is really bad! You should've backup your profile dude And if you import your old profile you will start with every thing that you had in your old profile

oh what the hell.....okay...all my levels are still there....but the entire story level progress is gone.....and stuff I collected..

happend to me in the first week after i aced 18 levels... hasnt happend again since though,,, when you import your lbp1 profile again you'll notice you still have your lbp2 costumes that you saved yourself and your moon should still have the level... i just wait even longer now when i think its crashed it sorts its self out in the end edit: yea do a backup when you finish it and update it on the regular =)

well as long as my levels are okay im happy....the story only takes like 4 hours to complete with most items obtained

Back up your profile often. I do it just about every time before I quit the game just in case. On a side note, if you need help playing through story mode again, I'd be happy to help. I'm trying to earn all the story mode pins.

I feel your pain, Same exact thing happened to me like 4 days ago. Had 100%, 2 levels left to ace, and a level on my moon that I was working on. Game froze, restarted the PS3 and game asked to import LBP1 profile. I had a backup file that was done approx 2 days prior which had decent story mode progress, so i went with that. It sucks dude. I literally felt like crying and i learned a valuable lessen. BACK UP DAILY. In addition it makes good practice to have your PS3 data saved on an external hard drive. The infamous "YLOD" can strike at any moment, and if you dont know how to reflow your motherboard you really out of luck. So when you over the initial shock of being rapped of your hard work and you go back for the grind, Back it up. I back up anything and everything. Call me paranoid but I just like being prepared for things like this with both my computer and ps3.
