well i've been polishing up my level building skills (this is my third published level in three days !)

theres a little bit of everything in this one, sackbots, low grav, bounce pads and some vehicals (i've got to say, im proud of my escape pod)

im USELESS with the music synth so if anybody would like to donate some awesome music for the level id give credit

I've enjoyed making these levels and would love to see them get off the ground so any feedback is welcome
Cheers

UPDATE: i've slowed the jetpack down a little to make that section easier, remember, they require a gentle touch, think astro lander!2011-01-29 10:42:00

but if i linked HTIS1 to HTIS2 wouldnt that mean people HAD to play the first one to play the rest? dont want to make people play all the way through whenever i publish a new level, still would be cool to see the whole thing flow as one, think i'd have to re-do alot of the first one to make it fit tho2011-01-30 16:31:00

Yeah your right never thought of that... you could link them by end scoreboard, that links seperate levels doesnt it? or is it the same as a checkpoint link?2011-01-30 16:33:00

Scoreboard level linking works like the checkpoint level links, except for the fact that it'll record your score for that level, then whoosh you off to the next level. Btw queueing this up for tonight (christ I'm gonna be busy ), thanks for checking out my level btw 2011-01-30 21:04:00

Thanks for the feedback of "Tilt, Roll, and Drop". It's a good level with some clever ideas.

VISUALS:
The material usages are quite ingenious and well polished with corner edit.

SOUND:
Funny to hear "I Have Changed" while escaping the prison.

GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay is a bit decent to me. However, I really enjoy the bouncing pad part, and the jetpack usage works.I think you need to give the jetpack space some extra room.

OVERALL:
A good [but not great] level that had some platforming goodness. Keep it up. A yeah vote.

Alright, here's what I thought:

Gameplay: 3.5/5
- I think this was a pretty fun level! Some friends of mine jumped in while I was playing it and they liked it as well. The one thing I would say is that there re a couple of camera angles that really throw you off. I would try to make those less drastic so the play doesn't feel like he's falling over. The level was also a little on the short side. I really liked the jet pack, it takes some getting used to, but it was nice.

Scenery: 3.5/5
- I think you really captured the space jail theme. I would suggest making more than one type of sack-prisoner running around. I felt like I was mobbed by a group of look-alikes. Also, at the very end, I could see the bottom or the "blank level". I would try to make the beach so you don't see that at the end.

Sound: 4/5
- Although the alarm gets annoying at first, it adds to the prison break. Makes it become more realistic. I think the music you picked for this level was funny yet awesome! I felt it made everything that much more fun.

Overall, it was a nice level. I think I gave it .

My thoughts:

Gameplay: :star::star::star::star:
Nice non-stop platforming action throughout the level. Enjoyed the jetpack, though maybe work on it a bit to make it less touchy.

Aesthetics: :star::star::star:
Nothing special or memorable aesthetically, but passable. Camera is mostly good but a few angles can be somewhat difficult.

Concept::star::star::star::star::star:
Haven't seen a prison break level before, much less one in space. It's a very good concept though maybe it could be executed a little better.

Overall::star::star::star::star:
As stated above, I feel like more could have been done with this concept. Perhaps take a little more time to polish your levels and add interesting gameplay mechanics. For example, I feel a stealth section would have complimented this concept very well. Of course that's not the only example but it's just one that jumps to mind.

I gave your level . Don't feel bad I didn't heart it, I almost never heart levels.

I just finished playing the level that was quite awesome! The jetpack bit required a careful guidance, as you mentioned, though I'd recommend one extra bar of health, for those angry ol' rockerfellers who give boo's cos a levels too hard. But apart from that, I was quite blissful when I landed my pod on a perfectly serene palm beach. Forgive me for saying this, but I was paranoid that the scoreboard would disappear into thin air and the character would be arrested but thats just my two cents. Well done on a mad level z

btw I could probably donate one of my sequencer tracks for you. Fly through my Music Gallery, pick a song out and I'll friend you and send it to you via message.

Bassdeluxe : i did think of doing a stealth section but only after i'd finished the level, i didnt realy start out with the concept in mind, just sort of started building, the jail thing came later on lol!

XfennoX : thanks for the offer, ill have a look as soon as i get a chance and let you know

thanks again guys, let me know if i can return the favour!
