Sackbots and the Controlinator

Archive: 4 posts

Hi guys, just a quik question before i spend hours trying to figure this out, Is it possible to make a sackbot be able to use a controlinator in such a away that it can be used as an NPC. For example, if i where to make a top down racer like micro machines could i use a sackbot to control apponent vehicles?

It seems that if it can be done it will be extremely difficult but i have to feeling that it can not be done.

Any help would be grately appreciated, thanks for your time

I've found the easiest way is acting...

So long as no buttons connect to O, just copy the controls of (say) a vehicle into it - Minus the camera/Recieve. Then select Record, and you can record the movements through the racetrack

Keep in mind that pre-recorded NPC behavior is not the same as NPC A.I.: the NPC vehicle will not make decisions based on a changing environment, for instance obstacle or the player knocking the NPC vehicle off its preset track. You can however record portions of behavior that are hard to emulate with logic and have logic on the NPC react to the environment and apply the best behavior for the situation it encounters.2011-02-01 12:11:00
