Using a "sprite" with Controlinator?
Archive: 5 posts
There are popular levels up where someone has made reproductions of Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong using reproductions of the sprites, and what I can only assume are controlinators attached to the characters. I want to try making a level with my own retro-styled sprites, but I'm confused about some stuff. First off, I haven't messed with the Controlinator much yet, but would it be possible for me to give an object a simple left-right-and-jump 2D platformer control scheme? Second, how would I control animations on the sprite? IE a static sprite, a running sprite, a jumping sprite, and maybe a death sprite if possible. Last, and this is more of an enemy AI question: How do I make it so that drones walk infinitely left and right within a certain section, and don't walk straight in one direction forever? Thanks to anyone who helps. | 2011-01-28 23:09:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |

I'm sure someone can go into more detail if you need it | 2011-01-28 23:20:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |

Would I be right in thinking these sprite holograms would then be glued 'inside' each other? Or is it emitter trickery? | 2011-01-29 00:38:00 Author: Bovrillor Posts: 309 |
emitter trickery hooked up to a timer is my best guess. So. hold down left on the D pad for .5 seconds and a new sprite get's emitted. makes sense? | 2011-01-29 02:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
I know I'm late on this, but for anyone reading, you were right in gluing holograms "inside" one another. if you used an emitter it would not follow you and would only either stay still, or continue on path from where it was emitted, or at best flicker a lot. | 2012-02-04 10:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
