Coop or Versus(Camera and Scoring ) Question

Archive: 11 posts

I have a monster truck racing level that I have published and I have some questions about the mode of play. I thought versus mode was the right mode but after seeing the scoring method I am not so sure. Essentially, when my level finishes it shows your score but then when you look at the leader board there is just your name and a dash.

3 questions
-Is there something specific about versus mode scores that I am missing?

-Does the camera follow others players off the screen in both modes? I have not been able to play test online as a second player. I was under the impression that the camera in a coop game follows only the first player so I set my level to versus? If this is the case is there a simple way to allow every player to have their own camera in coop mode. Maybe I am underestimating the coop mode camera.

-Is there a way to limit a level to 3 players rather than 4?

Heres my level http://lbp.me/v/w3n0f8

1. Not sure but versus is head to head, everyone gets their own points. Coop you share points. So if this is something you want people to compete against each other in, you want versus.

2. Only versus do people get their own camera. If this is a race where people may get spread out, then you want versus.

3. Yes, but not to keep them out of your level. You can effectively end the level if 4 people enter. Learn how here: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=45839-Limit-number-of-players

What is the deal with the score board in versus. For example , people have played my level but their scores don't end up on the level specific scoreboard. The scores only show up in game. Is there no support for scoreboard when using this mode?

Oddly enough I don't see that you have published levels unless you haven't linked your PSN to your acct. Otherewise I'd look.

But I'm not sure about the scoreboard thing. It does end differently. Hmmm... not sure.

your score in a versus level is only uploaded to the psn if you play with another person online, so the dash hides your score and the scores of the leaderboard until you complete the level online with someone2011-01-28 18:05:00

Hmm. I guess i need a multi camera coop level then. Is it possible to hack this up easily? I want people to be able to record a score even if they come in alone but also be able to support 3 player head to head with different cameras.

is your level a race? if so then why would anyone play it on their own? (not tryna be rude but) i dont think that alot of people look at a race level and play it even though their alone, so versus is the perfect setting.
(also you cant do a multi - camera coop level since players have to be in the same screen in coop levels)

Its a race against your friends and a race to get the best overall time.
