The sound that only kids can hear
Archive: 32 posts
This is a sound that only children/teenagers can hear. Listen to it here (http://www.mahalo.com/answers/can-you-hear-this-sound-this-is-the-sound-only-kids-can-hear-can-you-hear-it) Some people say it hurts, although personally I just experience a high pitched ringing in my ear, but some small children may find it painful. It's thought of by the elderly as a teen repellant, whearas I think it's the perfect ring tone for college Do with it what you will | 2011-01-28 15:33:00 Author: MrFunctionality Posts: 637 |
This was popular at school 3 years ago, when we'd just started. Being in a lesson and suddenly hearing *eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* with the teacher not realising was hell, because if the teacher didn't know, they weren't told off >.< | 2011-01-28 16:18:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
Well I'm 36 and I couldn't hear it but I did barely make out a high frequency sound. I could tell something was playing but I'm sure I'd ignore it if I was in public. | 2011-01-28 16:22:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I can hear it. And this kind of sound is commonly found in cellphones around scholl here too. | 2011-01-28 17:25:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
Oi-vey. I could CLEARLY hear that. It hurts. >_< We don't have anything like this at my school (much to the fact that we'd cringe if we heard this xD). But it does sound tempting to test out. | 2011-01-28 17:42:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
I'm 18 i could hear it. My 20 year old brother could hear it. My mum could hear it, but only when stood next to the PC well my dad on the other hand, couldn't. | 2011-01-28 17:45:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |
EEEEEeeeeeeeeee.... Putting it in shops annoys me. Not everyone wants to steal their stupid mars bars. D: Headphones are wonderful things however. | 2011-01-28 17:48:00 Author: PygmyOwl Posts: 1316 |

I don't find it too disturbing. Maybe I got used to it at school! If this keeps up, I'll be able to hear these kinds of sounds until I die! (or at least finish school) | 2011-01-28 18:42:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
Umm... I think I can barely hear it. Oh jeez I'm turning old... | 2011-01-28 18:54:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
People used to get the iPhone app with that sound on it and everybody in the class were getting mad at them... because it's funny the first times but the 20th time is annoying as hell. | 2011-01-28 18:56:00 Author: Chump Posts: 1712 |
That sound is awfully familiar *mum walks into messy room... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!* Yup, that's it! | 2011-01-28 19:32:00 Author: moonwire Posts: 1627 |
I could hear it, but it wasn't ear-disintegratingly-annoying or loud...But I've heard that before, sometimes that ringing/buzzing noise just comes outta nowhere. | 2011-01-28 19:48:00 Author: TheZimInvader Posts: 3149 |

But I've heard that before, sometimes that ringing/buzzing noise just comes outta nowhere. Same here, I can hear it now. It's especially annoying (and more frequent) when I'm lying in bed trying to go to sleep. | 2011-01-28 22:15:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
Haven't been a teen for a few years and I can hear it clearly and I remember it from my high school days. Was pretty **** annoying when I did here it too but now that I think about it I can't remember the last time I actually heard it (and I don't miss it). | 2011-01-29 03:23:00 Author: Dapiek Absaroka Posts: 512 |
I can hear it. Our science teacher was messing around with it, putting it really loud and saying while we squirmed: "AHAHAHAAHAH! I CAN'T HEAR ANTHING!!!!!!" | 2011-01-29 03:49:00 Author: tomodon246 Posts: 624 |
That may be the coolest teacher ever, tomodon246. I heard it, and then my 18 y o brother came in from the other room wondering what that high pitched noise was. lol. | 2011-01-29 04:24:00 Author: Super_Dork_42 Posts: 1874 |
MY HEAD. D: I hear it, but I get more of a pain in the front of my head, not my ears. Rrr. Sounds like crickets. Tell me that again when you've got 250 adult male crickets in a 10 gallon tank at midnight in the pitch black. o3o | 2011-01-29 05:16:00 Author: ShenziSixaxis Posts: 4 |

I heard it, which is not surprising; I'm not an adult. I've never heard this used at my school. | 2011-01-30 01:36:00 Author: Stoicrow Posts: 276 |
