Little Big Ipod

Archive: 5 posts

whats up folks, so Ive been designing the logics for my I pod which will have every little big planet song labeled, led pic and been catigorized by kit and game. But upon pluging in the tracks I decided to check load times and they are INSANE. When a player wishes to enter level or even place the Ipod object it takes several minutes...which sadly is a deal breaker. Is there a way around this aside from having limited songs?2011-01-28 06:11:00

Could you setup a timer or a 2nd button and have the song emitted on a cardboard box inside the machine instead of placing the actual radio in the level? Should cut down on load times quite a bit but if you wanted to change the song after one had started youd have to create some kind of cruncher to destroy the original box I think, could be wrong2011-01-28 08:26:00

well the problem is that i simply have to many files...76+ songs and they are all organized on MC's through a series of logics. They are not "physically" in the level but im assuming the game is still accounting for the data prior to player load.2011-01-28 10:14:00

Tried using sequencer music tracks?
They use less thermo I think.

EDIT: Ah I see.
Sounds like a handy tool to have.

Actually the thermo is NOT the issue. Even with every song from LBP 1, LBP 2, and DLC music the thermo sits happily at 1/8 full. The load times as the player enters level and / or places the object in a blank level are the issue.

I might just set the level up where there will be 3 levels to the series and all connect by level links. Each level will have a different set of organized music; LBP1, LBP2, and DLC music respectfully. As the player enters either level they can build their own i pod by style and color scheme.

Each personalized Ipod will have
1.)the song pic, artist, track name and track #
2.)prev / forward navigation
3.) create mode enambled (meaning when you float, the song continues to play)
4.)maybe "on the fly forward" (meaning as you float and if you wish to change to next song simply press down and up "to unfloat and to float " and the iPod will move to the next track
