Where is the pixel rendering filtering material?
Archive: 12 posts
I'm trying to find the material that, when placed in front of other stuff, makes that stuff look like it was rendered in a grid of pixels. I'm guessing it's in the Cosmos somewhere, as that's where I found the others filter materials, but I haven't hunted it down yet. Can anybody confirm where they found it? Thanks in advance. (BTW, there are some other materials called pixel something or other, that just have a static pattern of squares on them...that's not what I'm talking about.) | 2011-01-28 00:06:00 Author: LittleBigDave ![]() Posts: 324 |
Yeah, 99% sure you get it by acing one of the last three levels in the cosmos. Which took me a few attempts. ![]() | 2011-01-28 01:05:00 Author: midnight_heist ![]() Posts: 2513 |
I believe you get it for acing "Where in the world is Avalon." Not 100%, though. | 2011-01-28 01:47:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Would make more sense if you got it for acing "fight of the bumblebee" Not sure though. | 2011-01-28 01:59:00 Author: Alexxerth ![]() Posts: 233 |
You get the material by acing the level "Full Metal Rabbit" in The Cosmos. You get the X-ray filter material for acing "Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge?" (I knew this because I just aced WITWIAC? yesterday after five tries ![]() | 2011-01-28 02:55:00 Author: Night Angel ![]() Posts: 1214 |
actualy there is a material called pixelation and you have to ace the "Set controls to the Heart of the Negativitron" Level | 2011-01-28 11:18:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Thanks all, according to the wiki, pixelate comes from acing Full Metal Rabbit, silhouette and outline just from playing WITWIAC? and x-ray from acing it. All I know for sure is I aced all that stuff and I have them now. ;-) | 2011-01-28 23:28:00 Author: LittleBigDave ![]() Posts: 324 |
Can someone post a picture of Xray material with someone standing in the back? I want to see what it is before I waste time trying to get it. | 2011-01-29 02:48:00 Author: Alexxerth ![]() Posts: 233 |
Can someone post a picture of Xray material with someone standing in the back? I want to see what it is before I waste time trying to get it. First of all, it doesn't really look X-Ray. You don't see a little sack skeleton or anything. It looks very similar to the outline material, in that it is mostly black with the edges of objects crisply lined in a whitish color. But unlike outline, the interiors of objects are also lightly shaded. You don't really see textures but just the polygons that make make up the object. It is an interesting effect, but it's not tweakable, which I think reduces it's use a lot. I think it if could be colors other than black and white it might have made for some very cool Tron-esque styling. | 2011-01-29 03:27:00 Author: LittleBigDave ![]() Posts: 324 |
So it just lightly shades in objects? Thats kind of...weird... Maybe you could layer it so that it has that and the outline set to a color and it would be good for Tron styled games? | 2011-01-29 12:22:00 Author: Alexxerth ![]() Posts: 233 |

It basically just removes anything behind it's texture, including the level background. It's quite interesting, but I can't for the life of me think where it could be used. | 2011-01-29 12:35:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |

The filters don't stack, and stickers do not appear on them, so that unfortunately wouldn't work. But I actually think the outline material itself has pretty good Tron potential on its own. In any case I think they all look very cool, and I'm sure somebody will find brilliant use for them. It would have been really great if they were holograms though, because they do eat up a thin layer being glass. | 2011-01-29 21:34:00 Author: LittleBigDave ![]() Posts: 324 |
