Save Transfer Question

| I'm sure this has been asked countless times, but... If someone is playing Little Big Planet 2, and transferd their save from LBP to LBP2, but they didn't have 100% of the LBP items, can they go back to LBP and get them and transfer those over later? (My friend still hasn't aced all the LBP levels, but he has aced all the LBP2 levels, and now we wonder if it's even worth it to go back and get them?
