YLoD??
Archive: 12 posts
Hi. Yesterday, my PS3 has YLoDed. I've pressed the On/Off button 7 times, but in 8th time, it turned on, and i backed up some saves. I tryed to backup the whole PS3, but i would need a 54 GB Storage device ?? I played some Infamous and then i turned it off, and turned on again to test if it would YLoD. No, it do not YLoDed. Today, in morning, I turned on my PS3 and played more Infamous. I turned it off but then I tryed to turn on but, YLOD again. I waited some time and tryed again. No YLOD. Then the same thing happened again from the part I turned PS3. Now it's YLODed, but it's also hot. Could it be not turning on doing it's hot? Also, in Brazil, PS3s can YLOD easier because there is hotter than USA and Europe, I think. What should I do? Sony do not have warranty to brazilian PS3 owners (AARG SONNYYYYYYYYYY). EDIT: K, I let it cool down for 10 minutes, now it turned on, but I'm preocupated of it be forever, be a permanent YLoD. If I loose my PS3, I can't buy another. | 2011-01-27 19:13:00 Author: ViniciusBR11 Posts: 546 |
Just pray for the price of PS3s to lower, because I think that YLoDs aren't fixable. (at least not permanently) Now that I'm close to getting my PS3 fixed, yours get YLoD... | 2011-01-27 20:11:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

I don't get a permanent YLoD, i jsut got it when the PS3 is hot and don't turn on. It turns on when cool down. I think it CAN be fixed. | 2011-01-27 20:34:00 Author: ViniciusBR11 Posts: 546 |

Let it cool down for about half a day or so, it should help make it last longer in that state. Also, I reccomend you delete all you don't need for a full system back-up, since it backs up A:: during that, simply delete all game-data Utility stuff (NOT the save data also, don't delete LBP's Game data either, trust me.) Game data is what usually takes the most memory, as each installed game is usually 3 - 6GB All videos and music and pics pass them on individually to anywhere you can, like a computer, or a music player-device. (Even if it can't view pics of videos, if it has the memory to store them you should be able to recover them later.) Your system should only have the importan things toback up now. (Save files, settings, etc.) Doing this also makes it so when you transfer save-files to a new PS3, you will not have any problem with save-files "being copied" from another system, it should count them as its own, since you backed all those settings along with the full back-up. This also backs up un-copyable save-data as well, so keep that in mind. Also, if you can't afford a new PS3 of the same Memory Capacity, siply buy the cheapest oe you can find, and exchange the hard drive with the one from your current PS3, and Tada! Cheaper new PS3! (NOTE: Doing theis WILL wipe out everything on the old Hard Drive, that's while you still need to back everything up before doing this, so even after its wiped out, you can restore it afterwards.) Hope that helps! | 2011-01-27 20:58:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

Will somebody give me an extra tip? also, I know YLoD can't be fixed forever, like, i know after sometime it will ylod again but, its like hungry. After sometime you will be hungry, and you need to eat, so you eated something. Hungry will come back again, but you can eat again. But one day you'll die and can't 'fix' the hungry-ish again. Imagine this with PS3. hungry is YLoD, You is PS3, and your death is you can't fix more times. Until the 'death' comes (no more fixes), i think i'll be able to buy another. EDIT: NUUUUUUUUUUU, i double posted srry mods >.< | 2011-01-29 00:35:00 Author: ViniciusBR11 Posts: 546 |
