Your DERP Moment(s)

Basically, tell us about the experiences you've had in LBP2 (in the story or create modes) that had you frustrated until you noticed a simple solution. In other words, DERP. Two that I can think of off the top of my head: -In Create mode, I spent a good 15 minutes rearranging logic because my top-down RC spaceship wasn't responding to my controls. I then noticed I had set the reciever to the wrong tag color. -In the story mode level "Fireflies When You're Having Fun," I tried countless times to use my grappling hook to reach a high ledge with some prize bubbles on it (in that little area where the fireflies are traveling along a small track). After around my 100th try, I actually managed to gain enough momentum to reach the ledge! Later, I came back to the level to try and ace it, and found out that a sticker switch gave you a Creatinator that spawned bounce platforms. I was making a controlinator pod and must of clicked the dark material when changing some materials. The piece I change to dark matter was behind the controlinator and I could not see it. I think I'm in the middle of one right now. I'm trying to round up all the prize bubble collectibles I can in story mode that don't require three/four players and the only one I'm missing is one single collectible in "Up and at Em'" in Eve's Asylum. It's the very first one that appears in the list and I've been redoing the level continuously taking every route and still haven't gotten it; so unless there's a glitch or something I'm almost certain it'll turn out to be something really obvious or something everyone else got without trying. | 2011-01-28 03:12:00 Author: Dapiek Absaroka Posts: 512 |

Try on the right side when you go in to the tunnel. I had a DERP moment on this one too, it's hard to see. lol, exact same thing happened to me too. So I was creating an invincibility powerup in my top down versus shooter level, and I used a NOT gate at first to make it work, but I thought that it didn't work, but I just didn't shoot the other thing enough, so I spent a whole hour trying others solutions until I realized it did work and I was just being impatient. I just had one of these moments before. I was polishing up the middle part of my level so the sackbot enemies I was emitting in were actually going to work properly, so I hit "save as" in case i made a mistake. After I finished,tested it and was happy with the results a friend invited me to join their game, so I did. Later on, I returned to the level and decided the start of the level needed work/an improvement as I had more thermo room to play with (emitting things and destroying them saves thermo!). After I improved the start i decided to finally fix the little things that bugged me each time I hit play and forget when I hit return to create. I hit play to test it, and when I got up to the point with the sack bots, I found out they behaviored exactly the same as when I started fixing them after I hit 'save as'. I then realized that I had loaded up the wrong level and was working on a previous version before I fixed the sackbots D:<. I tried to control Sackbots with a Controlinator by using advanced movers and stuff. The next day, I found out that you can actually do that much easier, by simply placing two Controlinators and setting them to 'Receiver' and 'Transmitter' And I was already wondering how you guys controlled Sackbots properly! | 2011-01-28 22:55:00 Author: iArekusu Posts: 402 |

I was working on the beginning part of VR Obstacle Course 7 (My first level on LBP 2, yay!) at the part after you jump down from the entrance. I was having trouble making a sequencer work properly, it would automatically start everytime I resumed in Create, I thought it was because my Tag Sensor had to be inverted. Didn't work, my sequencer kept playing everytime I resumed. Would have made things a lot simpler. I did exactly that, except for the fact that I had a pixel cursor on a 5x5 screen... it was pretty glitchy also So far I haven't derped too much in the real game, except for this one time in create mode... I was looking at the star menu and saw that I had used a black square sticker (which I had been messing around with earlier) so I decided to find it by looking through all of my microchips (there are a lot, it was in my rubik's cube logic) and halfway through I realized that sticker is on my sackboy.
