I just purchased the MGS Level Pack from the PS Store because I need some materials from it for my LBP 2 Level. I couldn't find it in the in-built LBP 2 store but now I'm wondering how I can get all the stuff from the pack into LBP 2. Do I need to play the levels on LBP 1 and they'll automatically transfer over? Thanls

You should be able to play them from the in game store on LBP2.

I am seeing it on the 2nd or 3rd page of my ingame store in lbp2 But maybe: This MGS pack is for LBP1 so im guessing you need to re-import your lbp1 profile into lbp2, and maybe then the MGS pack will show up.(but i highly doubt this though)

All DLC should be LBP2 playable. If you bought it, it shouldn't care what game you are using to use it.

If you're having trouble finding it on the store page (I admit, the interface is a bit awkward, especially with there being no way to just show purchased items at the minute as far as I can tell), find a level you know uses the MGS materials or Paintinator, pull up the level details and press the button that says something along the lines of "See DLC used". It's not ideal, but it should bring up the MGS pack straight up with relatively little fuss.
