No... But you can emit a solid piece of invisible material inside the Holographis Material, when the Holo is turned on and destroy the invisible material when the Holo is turned off | 2011-01-27 15:56:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
Does that make a sound? | 2011-01-27 16:03:00 Author: RibShark Posts: 83 |
Nope. Just use the proper "entry" for the emitted object. I think its either "appear" or "fade" which are silent ways of creating objects. | 2011-01-27 16:06:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |

The only invisible solid material I know of is very thin dark matter. Let's say your holo material is a floating square, 1 layer thick. It's resting in the middle layer. 1. Make sure create mode is paused. 2. Select and copy the holo square, then push L1 to move it forward a layer. 3. Paste it into existence. Back out of the menus and use the material changer tool to change it into dark matter. 4. Back out of the menus again and select your pop-it cursor. 5. Press start and make sure your grid is turned off. 6. Now move the right analog stick down JUST A HAIR. 7. Press triangle to delete the middle part of your newly pasted object. You should have an incredibly thin piece of dark matter. 8. Back out of all the menus. 9. Reopen them and select your pop-it cursor. 10. Select the thin dark matter material. (It should be invisible, so you just have to kind of remember where it was at. Or you can hover over the holo square and press R2 to "hide" it for a second, then drag a lasso over that area to grab the dark matter you can't see). 11. With the invisible dark matter selected, press L2 to move it back to the middle layer. Now you have a holo square with a solid border that's invisible. If you want to emit the object, try this. I'm making a general assumption that you have the holo square connected to a simple switch, so substitute "switch" for whatever you power source is. 1. Capture the invisible dark matter and delete the existing one. 2. Then place a microchip on the holo square. 3. Within the microchip, place a material changer on the dark matter that has the indestructable setting set to "no". 4. Within the microchip, setup an emitter that emits your invisible dark matter directly over the holo square whenever the switch is turned on (lifetime needs to be infinite). 5. Within the microchip, setup an object destroyer that destroys it when the switch is turned off. I haven't tried this out, but it works in my head. | 2011-01-29 23:04:00 Author: Justin Hopewell Posts: 135 |
