Impact sensors and bouncepads....

Archive: 6 posts

I was trying to set an impact sensor (connected to a counter) on a bouncepad so that you would get points every time you bounce on it and after a certain amount of bounces the counter would activate something.

I set it to not include rigid connections or touching but for some reason it doesn't count everytime i land on the bouncepad.
instead it only works if i walk from the side of the pad onto it. Or hit the edge of the pad instead of the middle.

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? Or even an alternate way of doing this?
(Jump on target - bounce upwards - get points - add to counter)

Do impact sensors work on holograms? If they do you could have a thin slice of invisible hologram over the bouncepad with an impact sensor if the bouncepads are being a bit buggy.

If that doesn't work then sticking the bouncepad to a small piece of solid material underneath it and placing the impact sensor on the material instead of the bouncepad (including rigid connections) may make it more reliable, but I haven't tried it.

If the bouncepad is moving around then you could place a tag-follower on the hologram and the relevant tag on the bouncepad.

You could also stick the holographic material to the bouncepad but I dunno how that might affect it...

Yeah I stuck it to the pad. It should move with the object.

Ahhh man. I spent ages tuning a player sensor in the beta to get around this issue... Turns out that hologram (as ever) was the solution

Cheers.
