Gradually refilling meter.

So I figured out how to give my vehicle a boost button. But I wanted it limited to three seconds and to slowly fill back up when I let go of the button. I've tinkered a bit but I'm kinda stuck. | 2011-01-26 23:39:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |
Have you fiddled with timers? They can be reset - I'll post back here when I have more time to explain... | 2011-01-26 23:57:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |
Battery hooked to a timer set to three seconds. Output of timer to an AND gate, button output to the AND gate as well. Output of the AND gate to the reset of the timer and to the boost action of your car. The timer will automatically start to run. When it is full, it allows the AND switch to activate once you push X. This will boost the car, and reset the timer. While the timer is building up, there is no boost possible because the AND gate is inactive. http://i.imgur.com/zKeAm.png You could use the recharging sound in the Metal Gear Solid DLC. Tweak the pitch so it matches your cooldown and hook it up to the output of the AND gate. | 2011-01-27 00:20:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
Pretty much what he said above. If you wanted the boost to only stay on as long as you're holding x, it can be done by simply changing the timers input option to "directional". | 2011-01-27 00:33:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |

I think that would be more something like this: http://i.imgur.com/ZzKP7.png In this setup however, the recharging timer pauses when you push X too soon and continues again after you let go. It all depends on what you want to happen in that situation. | 2011-01-27 01:20:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
