So i am in the thinking about making a level where you are a robot thingy and you can use your magnets to help aliens off a spaceship or something. Followers would probably be the easiest way to do this. Assign a tag to the follower then put a matching tag on the robot. Now i need help with actually making the magnet robot. I want to make it so it can attract objects but have no idea on how to actually do it. Grrrrr.....I just made something like this. Just kidding. Have a button on your controllinator wired to a tag or two on your magnet. The button turns the tag on and off. On the objects, pop on a CB. In it you need a follower, anti grav, and a tag switch. Wired the tag switch into both the follower and the anti grav. Make the radius for the anti grav and the tag switch the same. Both should be set to match the tags. Works like a charm. EDIT: Forgot to add what dpcash below said. Add a material changer to the object set to sticky and wire the tag switch into that as well. Nice trick ive found is you can use the material changer object and wire it to turn sticky on and off, doesnt really help with your attracting but could solve a future shaking loose/breaking off bug or something | 2011-01-28 16:16:00 Author: Unknown User |
